New photographs have emerged showing the difficult driving conditions where Prince Philip had his crash - just days after he claimed he was 'dazzled by the sun'.
The startling images show the afternoon sun bursting through trees next to the A149 in Norfolk, where on Thursday the Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a crash with a car containing two women and a baby.
The accident happened as Philip pulled out of a side road on to the 60mph limit road. His Land Rover collided with a Kia car, sending his vehicle tumbling across the road where it ended up on its side.
The afternoon sun can be seen bursting through trees next to the A149 in Norfolk at around 3pm today. On Thursday the Prince was involved in a crash at a similar time and was heard saying he had been 'dazzled by the sun'

Mr Warne (pictured) also said: 'I was wearing sunglasses and where he was coming from he would have been looking straight into the sun. I can understand how it happened'
Soon after, witness Roy Warne, 75, claimed the Prince had told his wife that he had been 'dazzled by the sun' in the moments leading up to the crash.
And said himself: 'The sun was very, very low. It was almost at horizon level and it was very strong.
'I was wearing sunglasses and where he was coming from he would have been looking straight into the sun. I can understand how it happened.'
Today pictures emerged showing the sun glaring on to the same road where the crash took place - indicating that conditions could have been as the Prince described.
But Emma Fairweather, 46, who was a passenger in the Kia involved in the collision, claims the weather was not as the Prince reportedly described.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, she said: 'Prince Philip apparently said to a witness that it was the sun that dazzled him but I can't see how that could be true when it was overcast.'

Ms Fairweather from Kings Lynn in Norfolk said that she is 'lucky to be alive' and initially had no idea it was the Prince in the other car when the cars crashed.
She was left with a broken wrist following the crash, which took place as she was travelling with a 28-year-old woman and baby.
Describing the incident, she said: 'I had no idea at the time that it was Prince Philip - I was just thinking of the baby. I don't think I realised that my side of the car had taken most of the impact.'
Ms Fairweather said Prince Philip received most of the attention from drivers who stopped at the scene since his car was on its side and she feared she would be left until passerby Victoria Warne, 72, got her out and explained who the other driver was.
She said: 'The lady came over and said 'you do know who that is don't you' I thought it was just an elderly gentleman but she said 'It's Prince Philip'.'

Witnesses said Prince Philip was whisked away ten minutes later.
The Palace said contact has been made privately and 'well wishes' have been exchanged but the crash passenger said this was not true.
However, Ms Fairweather has not heard from the Queen or her husband, she said.
She added: 'I know the Queen is a busy lady but I was really excited at the idea that she might phone me.
'Instead I got a call from a police family liaison officer.'
The sun's glare has been known to cause crashes in the past, with the low-lying sun causing a particular problem for drivers at certain times of year.
Twenty-five people were killed in crashes on Britain’s roads in 2017 when a driver dazzled by the sun was a contributory factor, according to Department for Transport data.
A further 3,146 were injured, including 484 who were seriously injured.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
