He's played a myriad of characters on the big screen.

But Matthew McConaughey is really letting it all hang out for his latest role as Moondog in the upcoming flick The Beach Bum.

The 48-year-old actor portrays a rebellious stoner in the comedy, with one scene showing McConaughey wearing nothing but a thong as he exits a jacuzzi.

'One day I will swallow up the world and when I do, I hope you all perish violently,' he says to a crowd of people. 

Crimson and Clover plays in the background of the two-minute trailer which sees Moondog enjoying a life of little responsibility.

In one scene, McConaughey steps out of a jacuzzi on a mega yacht and parades around the deck in a purple thong.

His kooky character seems without worry wearing vibrant Hawaiian shirts and mismatched shorts. 

While he may think he's doing well, Snoop Dogg reminds him that he 'looks like s***'', while Jonah Hill's character Lewis says, 'You have p***ed away your talent on women and booze.'

All work: Moondog appears to live a life without consequences

Living his life without consequence seems to come to an abrupt halt in one jail scene where his character is reprimanded.

'It all stops now, the foolishness,' the judge said to Moondog. 'If you mess this up it's jail time.'  

The drug- and alcohol-fueled flick includes cameos by Zac Efron, Jimmy Buffet and Martin Lawrence, with Isla Fisher appearing to play a love interest.

The Harmony Korine-directed film is set to hit theaters on March 22.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
