A Colorado man was arrested for allegedly scamming a women out of more than $100,000 by claiming to be a former NFL player.

James Otis Turner was arrested Friday and held at the Douglas County Jail on felony charges of theft, forgery, identity theft and criminal impersonation, Castle Rock, Colorado police announced Wednesday. He has since been released on bond.

Turner allegedly told a woman who was a former Denver Broncos named Dante Sir Foster, but Turner has no connection to the team.

Furthermore, the only NFL player with a similar name is Donte Foster, who was briefly signed to the Minnesota Vikings practice squad in 2014 before attending Tennessee Titans training camp in 2016.

That Donte Foster reacted to the arrest on Twitter: 'Yeah I've heard. Sad to hear.'

According to a police spokesman, the Turner managed to scam $100,000 from the alleged victim.

Turner was previously arrested in October for an unrelated sexual assault. As the New York Post reported, several women have since told police that Turner identified himself as a former Broncos player.

In April, a woman named Chrissy Chernosky-Boyechko posted a picture of herself with 'Dante sir Foster' at a Minnesota gas station.

'So I'm getting gas before work and who do I run into Dante sir Foster who plays for the Denver Broncos now recently traded,' she wrote. 'Very very nice guy.'

It's not known if Chernosky-Boyechko gave him any money. She did not immediately respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment.

Another woman told police that Turner introduced himself as a Broncos player when the two met at a Colorado gas station.

'He was sitting in his nice car, was very well dressed and he asked, do you know who I am?' Anny Cristofano told radio station KDVR. 'I said, 'No, I have no idea. He said, 'I play for the Broncos.' I said, 'Oh that's cool,' and then he asked if I wanted to come over and meet him and if I could give him my phone number.'

Turner used a pair of blogs to help establish his cover, one of which identified him as a defensive back from San Antonio who was formerly known as James Morgan.

'Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, and the Pittsburgh Steelers were first to show interest and eventually landed with the Minnesota Vikings for the 2011-2012 season,' one post read. 'Unfortunately, due to injury he was unable to play after injuries which brought his season abruptly to an end.'

In yet another blog, dated in March of 2017, Turner identified as Dante Sir Foster and repeated the claim that injuries affected his NFL career.

'Dante's career has been action packed and nothing short of exciting while he has been playing professional football internationally thus far into his career,' the website reads. 'Unfortunate, and far too common, injuries have temporarily relocated him back to Texas most recently.'

The blog goes on to suggest Turner, identified as Dante Foster, was expected to return: 'Minnesotans are especially excited to see what is in store for Dante Foster this year as we head into what will undoubtedly be as we head into what will undoubtedly be the most epic year for Minnesota Sports; not only are the Minnesota Vikings playing on a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility, beautifully designed US Bank Stadium. but also likely this will be the most economically impactful sports event ever to come to Minnesota.'

Turner may have had other victims, a police spokesman told the Denver Post.

'We're hoping this will prompt women who did not realize, or did not report that they were a victim of this guy, to come forward,' Joe Cybert, a Castle Rock police spokesman, told the Post.

Cybert told KDVR about Turner's scheme.

'To get over $100,000 from a victim, he's definitely crafty in what he's doing,' Cybert said. 'He's claiming to be someone that he's not — and is proceeding on with criminal activity and the potential for victims could be far more than we could ever anticipate.'

The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email angocman@gmail.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.

James Otis...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
