Devastated: Lady Gaga rushes from Critics' Choice celebrations to her horse's side 'to say goodbye' after learning beloved Arabella is dying
'Saddened': Gaga paid tribute to her horse in a Twitter post
'It saddens me to say that just after the show I learned that my dear angel of a horse, Arabella, is dying,' wrote the devastated 32-year-old.
'I am rushing to her now to say goodbye. Her name means "yield to prayer". She is and was a beautiful horse. Our souls and spirits were one. When she was in pain, so was I. I will never forget the moments we shared.
'Long hikes together, galloping through the canyons. Feeding her cookies. She will forever be a part of me. I am so very sad. But I wish for your pain to end, and the gates of heaven to open for you.
'I love you. Girl, where do you think you're going?'
Beloved: Gaga frequently shared pictures of Arabella to Instagram
Avid horsewoman: The singer relaxes by riding her in the canyons around her Malibu home
It had already been an emotional night for Gaga.
Just two hours before penning her reflection, she was on stage at the Critics' Choice Awards, where she accepted two awards - Best Song for Shallow from A Star Is Born and Best Actress for her role as Ally in the movie.
Tying with Glenn Close for Best Actress, she sobbed with emotion when her name was read out, spilling water on herself as she hugged her director and co-star Bradley Cooper, before stumbling as she walked up the stairs to the stage.
After saying how happy she was for Glenn, her mother's close friend, she gave a passionate speech, her voice shaking.
'I'm so honored by this,' started Gaga, 32, who had earlier picked up the Best Song gong. 'I went to places in my mind and in my heart that I did know that I had or could. I feel noticed not just for my performance but the inner work it took creating this character.'
She added: 'Thank you Christian [Carino], my love,' before praising Cooper.
'Bradley, you are a magical film maker. And you as just as a magical of a human being. I have never had an experience with a director or an actor like I had with you. You seamlessly were both the love of my life and the man behind the camera. And the trust that you created on set from the cast to the crew.'
Gaga then talked about her role as aspiring singer Ally.

From the heart: Gaga read her speech from a paper, so as not to miss anything
Support: Glenn, who has won many awards in her time, took care of the singer turned actress
'It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, to relive something I'm not quite sure that I wanted to relive.
'But I want to thank one thing most foremost, I want to thank life, I want to thank life for the experiences I had to draw from to create this role.'
She ended by dedicating her award to those who suffer from alcoholism, like Bradley's character in the movie.
'I would like to dedicate this award tonight to all people who have suffered from alcohol addiction and have watched their loved ones suffer,' she said. 'This is the true star of the film. The true star is not me, it is bravery and perseverance.'
While unusual, ties are not unknown at the Critics' Choice Awards, and indeed Gaga and Close were not the only tie of the night.
Patricia Arquette and Amy Adams shared the gong for Best Actress in a TV Movie, giving a joint acceptance speech.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
