Gemma Collins has been branded 'ignorant' by Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner, after she claimed he 'can't skate.'
Speaking on Friday's This Morning, the acid-tongued dance expert, 47, admitted he can in fact skate despite her claims, but admitted he is there to judge the choreography over the skating.
It came after Jason slammed Gemma's debut on the ice on Sunday's live premiere, branding it 'an uncomfortable-to-watch French & Saunders parody.'
Brutal: Gemma Collins has been branded 'ignorant' by Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner, after she claimed he 'can't skate'
Jason said: 'We have to forgive these people for being ignorant for not knowing their stuff, she doesn't understand where I can come from, she doesn't know that I can skate.
'I'm not on the panel to judge the skating, we leave that to skating royalty Jayne and Chris.
'The job of Ashley [Banjo] and I is to talk about the performance the choreography. I enjoy the fact that I will say the truth, but it's also based on experience and expertise, I've been doing this for 35 years.'
Opinionated: Jason disputed Gemma's claims that he can't ice skate, after he branded her skating debut an 'uncomfortable-to-watch French & Saunders parody'
It came after Gemma claimed that Jason didn't know how to ice-skate during an appearance on Lorraine days before she took to the ice, saying: 'I find him highly amusing.
'I really like him, yes he's definitely going to say stuff about me and Jason Gardiner can't actually skate. Jason can have all the chat, but he can't back it up with the actions.'
But it seemed Gemma couldn't back up her words with a strong skating score, as her debut performance was slammed by Jason in Sunday's live show.
Clad in a sparkly gold bodysuit and skating to Beyonce's Crazy In Love, the TOWIE star scored just 16 points out of 40.

Lambasted: Despite giving it her all, Gemma's performance was slammed by Jason in Sunday night's show, Jason said 'you talk a big talk but you don't back it up'
Despite Gemma's claims that she did the splits on the ice, Jason disputed her claims, saying: 'You talk a big talk but you don't back it up. It was like a French & Saunders parody. Uncomfortable to watch.'
And despite host Holly Willoughby insisting she did the splits, Jason added that they 'weren't the splits.'
During his This Morning appearance, Jason also touched on the backlash he suffered after critiquing Grease star Didi Conn, saying he was 'disappointed' by her having 'dined out' on dancing thanks to Grease for her entire career.

Standing by his critique Jason added: 'I wanted something different from Didi, and what we got was everything we expected.
'I am and I have to judge it from the way from what I need to see, and what I would love to see is Didi rather than Frenchie.'
'Normally everyone likes to ease into those competitions, what it isn't for me is let's see a lovely demonstration for three weeks, I wanted to kick it off for week one.'

He's doing well: He also defended his decision to praise Strictly pro James Jordan, who despite scoring high, was slammed by viewers for being at an advantage due to his dance experience
He also defended his decision to praise Strictly pro James Jordan, who despite having such a high score, was slammed by viewers for being at an advantage due to his previously dance experience.
'As a dancer at his level he has a physical understanding of his beauty, however because of his expertise as a dancer he has trained in a very different way to skating,' he said.
'To learn to skate at the level he did is a real testament to how dedicated he is, because he had to unlearn a lot of habits.'
'I think it will eventually go against him if he doesn't continue to really wow people, to start so well he either has to keep pushing the envelope or he goes down.
'Is it an unfair advantage to have someone in who's got a million followers?
Backing it up: Jason justified his scathing critiques by saying: 'The job of Ashley and I is to talk about the performance the choreography'
Truthful: The acid-tongued judge added that some celebrities may be at a different kind of advantage if they have a strong social media following
'These are the people that we love on DOI that really have come from no background in performing or dance or skating, and somehow they just apply themselves but it's the application that I think is inspirational.'
Dancing On Ice will continue on Sunday when six more celebrity skaters will be making their ice debut, with the stars among them including Love Island's Wes Nelson, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, and Loose Women's Saira Khan.
They will hoping to avoid the dreaded skate-off, where they would be competing opposite Australian actor Mark Little.
Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday 13th January at 6pm on ITV.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
