«Breaking News» Dramatic footage shows moment cops taser a man attempting to carjack a vehicle

Dramatic footage shows a man being tasered by police as he attempted to steal a car from a Marine Corps veteran at the end of a day-long crime spree.

Volusia County deputies in Florida say Anthony Gunther, 34, broke into two vehicles and stole a Jaguar from a car dealership.

He then led deputies on an aerial chase that ended with him trying to carjack a man before a deputy used a Taser to stop him.

Authorities said the string of crimes began Tuesday at about 4.04 pm in Seville when a woman reported she saw someone trying to break into her vehicle that was parked in her driveway.

She got her firearm to scare the man, later identified as Anthony Gunther.

When the victim went outside to confront Gunther, he came toward her in an aggressive manner so she fired a shot into the ground to scare him off, according to an affidavit obtained by WKMG News 6

Gunther took a silver bracelet he retrieved by reaching into the victim's open vehicle window and fled the home in a red SUV, which had been reported stolen out of Holly Hill earlier that day, deputies said.

Minutes later, at 4:11 p.m., deputies said they got a call that turned out to be a car break-in in progress at a Kangaroo gas station in Seville.

In that case, the victim reported a man parked a red SUV next to her 2011 Chevrolet then used a tool to break one of the windows on her vehicle, according to the report.

Deputies said Gunther fled in the stolen SUV without stealing anything from the woman's Chevrolet.

Police in a helicopter were able to track Gunther's movements after he attempted to steal several cars in the area and did not appear to know where he was going

Deputies said they spotted his vehicle traveling about 90 mph near McBride Road and Lake George Road but lost sight of him going southbound on Highway 17.

Volusia County Sheriff's Office helicopter unit followed Gunther as he drove the stolen Jaguar in Pierson.

Deputies said Gunther got out of the vehicle and attempted to carjack a man and his friend who were stopped in the area to look at a house boat that was for sale.

Gunther got into the driver's seat of the black Ford F-150 and the victim got in the passenger's seat to attempt to stop him, according to the affidavit.

The two men struggled for control of the gear until a deputy deployed a Taser on Gunther, at which point Gunther surrendered, the report said.

David Final, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, jostled with Gunther as he tried to steal his SUV before police arrived and tasered him.

He told Channel 9 he was examining a house boat that he was considering buying Tuesday when he saw the Jaguar car pull up beside his pickup truck.

'He stopped and I saw him starting to bail out. I knew right away he was going for my truck. You picked the wrong person to mess with'.

Final said he ran toward his pickup and fought off Gunther in the cab.

'I'm sorry. I just got a crazy drug habit,' Gunther could be heard saying in video recorded by a deputy's body-worn camera.

When deputies searched the stolen red SUV, they found three cellphones, several ID cards, a Social Security card, a laptop and other items that did not belong to the owner of the vehicle.

Gunther was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on charges of carjacking, two counts of grand theft auto, burglary of a vehicle, theft, battery, resisting without violence, driving while a license is suspended or revoked and criminal mischief.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
