She is Godmother to his and Elton John's son Elijah.

And David Furnish, 56, was joined by close friend Lady Gaga, 32, as they enjoyed Elton's star-studded concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

Admitting that 'nights don't get better than this', the Canadian filmmaker could barely contain his delight as he partied the night away with the Oscar-nominated star.

David cut an incredibly dapper figure for the concert in a brown coat teamed with a black turtleneck.

He was joined by Gaga who made her usual style statement in a sparkling silver jumpsuit and a sensational beehive bun.

'Celebrating Gaga’s Oscar nomination and Elton’s first show in Los Angeles. Congratulations to both of them. Nights don’t get any better than this......@ladygaga @eltonjohn #EltonFarewellTour,' David gushed in the snap.

The pair looked in high spirits as they enjoyed Elton's hit tunes as the iconic hitmaker took to the stage.

This comes after Gaga revealed she was overwhelmed when she found out she had been nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the A Star Is Born remake.

The singer told The New York Times she overslept, not hearing the nominations being read off in the early morning hours.

When she woke at 'about 8:30' in the morning, she 'didn’t know anything about it,' she Gaga said. She then called her manager, who filled her ins. 'I just burst into tears,' Gaga told the Times.

She also said that Bradley Cooper is the 'best director in her eyes', despite his Oscar snub for A Star Is Born.

The talent has hailed Cooper's talent behind the camera on his directorial debut which earned eight nominations at the Academy Awards, including Best Picture, but not a nod for him individually.

Gaga insisted she and the rest of the cast all appreciate what Cooper, 44, inspired them to achieve on the musical drama - which is a remake on the 1937 movie of the same name.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, she said: 'Well, you know, you never know what's going to happen, but at the end of the day, he knows that he's the best director in my eyes and in all of our eyes as his cast.

'I know that he's so happy that we've all been nominated and that the film was recognised and we all feel really, really beyond elated for the recognition.'

Although he missed out in the Best Director category, Cooper is up for the Best Actor prize for his performance as Jack Maine, whilst Gaga is up for Best Actress for her portrayal of singer Ally Maine and she is up for Best Original Song for Shallow which she co-wrote with Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt.

Admitting that ‘nights don’t get better than this’, the Canadian...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
