Millions of shoppers will get the chance to bag more bargains over the coming days as 'Cyber Monday' extends into the week. 

More retailers are offering deals that run beyond midnight tonight as the nation looks set to splash the cash on some online sales that continue into December.

Experts predict that the nation will splurge £7billion on the shopping frenzy, that began on 'Black Friday' on November 23.

The peak times for e-commerce traders as they push their best deals are expected to be 8am and 6pm, as rush-hour commuters shop by phone.

Although most stores are closing their Black Friday weekend sales by midnight tonight, some were offering deals running in to tomorrow or beyond.

How to avoid being scammed online this Cyber Monday 

Online shoppers are being urged to remain vigilant against online scams today as they browse the internet in search of the best deals.

Fraud experts have shared their tips and tricks to keep consumers safe on Cyber Monday.

They are: 

• Make sure the website URL starts with 'https'. The 'S' means it's secure.

• Avoid bank transfer buying - fraudsters prefer this method of payment. Use a trusted payment source only. 

• Keep an eye out for 'hidden' subscription traps, when consumers are tricked into buying additional products online. Keep an eye on your bank account over the next few days to ensure you haven't unwittingly signed up to one.

• Think twice before providing ID details like passports, driving licence or National Insurance numbers. They are irrelevant to purchases

• Beware of fake 'IT support' where scammers give you the impression that the we website you're visiting as 'frozen' and urge you to call a support team to fix it.

• Buy from trusted sites only.

Argos is continuing its Cyber Monday sale until 11.59pm tomorrow night.

Clothing retailer Gap is also running deals throughout tomorrow, along with online clothes store Asos, which closes its sale at 8am tomorrow.

Online retailer Amazon is running its Cyber Monday promotion until November 30.

It will run 'lightning deals' of discounted products that usually run for six hours.

Furniture store Wayfair is another currently extending its Black Friday promotion, offering deals on some items  until December 3.

The Natural History Museum shop, which sells educational gifts for children, is offering 50 per cent of toys until tomorrow at 10am. 

The British Retail Consortium said early indications showed that less was spent on Black Friday than previous years, but because offers are now over an 'extended period' it will take time before final figures are known.

The deals comparison website Finder.com claimed consumers were set to spend an estimated £7billion on Black Friday and Cyber Monday purchases, the Guardian reported.

Bargain hunters are expected to spend an average of £220 each on Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales this year.

This is up on last year when the average shopper spent £304 in the salaes.

But more shoppers are expected to take part this year - 62 per cent compared to 36 per cent in 2017. 

A spokesman for the British Retail Consortium said: 'Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become a staple fixture of the calendar year and an important one for many retailers. 

'Early indications suggest that less was spent on Black Friday than in the previous year.

'However with many retailers offering promotions over an extended period, it will take some time before the full implications of this years’ Black Friday are known.

'Cyber Monday is another day of fierce competition between retailers that continues to drive down prices on a range of products, particularly electronics.'  

Demand for Facebook 'likes' fuels £1.6bn boom in 'days out' experience gifts

Young people eager for approval on social media are behind an expected decrease in bulky gifts being bought this festive period.

The number of bulky items stashed under the Christmas tree this year is set to fall as people prioritise getting 'likes' on Facebook and Instagram.

Experience gifts are replacing traditional items as one fifth of UK adults plan to buy presents such as concert tickets and restaurant vouchers in another blow to the high street.

The Barclaycard poll found that 13 per cent of respondents considered whether the gift they bought would 'create exciting content for social media', The Times reports.  

People aged 25 to 30 were more conscious of this factor than any other age group in the survey of 2,000 adults. 

An average of £129 will be spent by each person - which is 115 per cent up from last year.

Forecasters say that £1.6billion will be splashed on gifts this year, with comedy shows and theatre tickets among the post popular items.

Sports tickets and activities such as skydiving are also popular among buyers.

And some buyers even admitted to giving vouchers and tickets in the hope of being invited along.  

Thirty-six per cent of people worried about the perfect gift and 56 said they preferred receiving experiences.  

Almost 1,000 retailers went into administration in the first nine months of 2018, which is the highest number in five years.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage.
