«Breaking News» United Airlines plane slides off icy taxiway and into the grass at Denver Airport

Icy conditions caused a United Airlines plane to slide off an icy taxiway and into the grass at Denver International Airport this weekend.

United Flight 1941 was arriving from Tuscon, Arizona around 6.40pm on Saturday when the 91 people on board received a bumpy surprise.

While the plane landed safely, it ran into troubles as it began to taxi off the runway.

'When the taxiing started, and the pilot started to turn, it felt like it does when you lose control of your car,' passenger Christina Morgan told KMGH

Passengers said the plane felt like it slid on the ice and that they could feel it fishtail.

'I was on the side of the plane where you could see the runway. I saw all the emergency vehicles show up,' Morgan said.

'A passenger on the other side of the plane told me all she saw was grass.'

'It got real bumpy for a minute, and I look over and we're in the grass, not on the taxiway anymore,' he told KDVR

'We just had to sit tight for awhile. [There were] emergency crews, lights all over the place. It was kind of silly because everyone was fine.'

'But they were coming to check on the aircraft, they told us we're going to have to wait for the buses and deplane out the back.'

'It was kind of interesting walking down the stairs onto an icy taxiway and then riding a bus into the terminal.'

Passenger Denise Ferens said it felt like the plane was 'at an angle'.

'It was a little weird at first,' she added.

'We didn't realize we were on the grass, then I looked out the window and saw the engine was just above the grass.'

After the passengers were taken to the terminal, many had to wait several hours to receive their luggage.

'They had to take the plane to the hangar and then take the luggage out of the plane there and bring it here,' Ferens said.

Denver International Airport said it would continue deicing operations as normal and would investigate how the slide-off was able to happen.

While the plane landed ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
