Donald Trump expanded on a riff about Osama bin Laden Monday morning, saying it's former President Bill Clinton's fault that it took so long to catch the terrorist.
He had been harangued since an interview with 'Fox News Sunday' aired in which he ridiculed the United States for allowing bin Laden to live in a 'nice mansion in Pakistan' he says that 'everybody' knew about. He also said it would 'have been nice' if the authorities captured bin Laden faster.
Trump took the argument further on in a Monday morning tweet, writing: 'Of course we should have captured Osama Bin Laden long before we did. I pointed him out in my book just BEFORE the attack on the World Trade Center. President Clinton famously missed his shot.'

The U.S. president also claimed the country paid 'Pakistan Billions of Dollars & they never told us he was living there. Fools!'
'We no longer pay Pakistan the $Billions because they would take our money and do nothing for us, Bin Laden being a prime example, Afghanistan being another,' he said in a follow-on message. 'They were just one of many countries that take from the United States without giving anything in return. That’s ENDING!'
Trump has blamed Clinton for failing to take out the al Qaeda and 9/11 mastermind faster in the past.
'And actually, Bill Clinton had their sights on him and then didn’t pull the trigger,' Trump claimed at a 2016 rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 'If they pulled the trigger you’d probably have the World Trade Center the way it used to be. And by the way, most importantly, with all the thousands of lives that have been lost and affected so gravely. So we have to be smart.'
Clinton admitted as he left office that he 'nearly got him' but stepped back from the operation.
'I could have killed him, but I would have to destroy a little town called Kandahar in Afghanistan and kill 300 innocent women and children, and then I would have been no better than him. And so I didn't do it,' he said.
An ex-Navy Seal commander blasted had Donald Trump's attacks on the media as the 'greatest threat to democracy' in his lifetime after president said he should have killed Osama bin Laden sooner.
The President went on the offensive after retired Navy Admiral Bill McRaven, who headed the Seal unit in charge of the raid of the 9/11 mastermind, attacked Trump for undermining the media.
Trump branded McRaven a Hillary Clinton fan and criticized the length of time it took the US military to locate and kill Bin Laden, claiming they allowed the terrorist to live in a 'nice' mansion in Pakistan for too long.
In response to Trump's remarks, McRaven told CNN: 'I did not back Hillary Clinton or anyone else.

'I am a fan of President Obama and President George W. Bush, both of whom I worked for. I admire all presidents, regardless of their political party, who uphold the dignity of the office and who use that office to bring the nation together in challenging times.
'I stand by my comment that the President's attack on the media is the greatest threat to our democracy in my lifetime.
'When you undermine the people's right to a free press and freedom of speech and expression, then you threaten the Constitution and all for which it stands.'
After Trump tweeted that about bin Laden on Monday and blamed Clinton, ex-CIA director John Brennan, whose security clearance the White House revoked earlier this year over his public disputes with Trump, lashed out in a tweet at the commander in chief.
'You constantly remind us how substantively shallow & dishonest you are on so many fronts, which is why we are in such dangerous times. You would need an extremely tall ladder to get anywhere near the level of intellect, competence & integrity of Bill McRaven & your predecessors,' he said.
Trump's remarks also prompted criticism from Retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, who served with McRaven in Europe and Iraq.
'I'd use one word. And that's 'disgusting,'' Hertling said on CNN when asked about his thoughts on Trump's criticism of McRaven.
'You know everyone knows Bill McRaven as being the guy that led the bin Laden raid.
' I know him as the guy as the joint special operations commander in Iraq, and there were multiple missions where this guy placed himself in danger, led soldiers in some of the most challenging situations you can imagine.'
Hertling added that to have someone 'that holds an office that's supposed to represent all people and who says he supports the military, to just dismiss this great American hero as a guy who was a Hillary Clinton lover, which is patently not true, is just really disgusting.'
McRaven wrote in a Washington Post op-ed in August that Trump has 'embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation.'

His criticism of Trump came up when Fox News host Christ Wallace pressed Trump on whether his harsh rhetoric on the media was hurting the country and pointed out that people like McRaven 'say that your sentiment is the greatest threat to democracy in his lifetime.'
'Hillary Clinton fan,' Trump said of the retired admiral on Fox News Sunday. 'Excuse me, Hillary Clinton fan.'
The president added: 'He's a Hilary Clinton, uh, backer and an Obama-backer.'
He added: 'Wouldn't it have been nice if we got Osama Bin Laden a lot sooner than that, wouldn't it have been nice?
'You know, living - think of this - living in Pakistan, beautifully in Pakistan in what I guess they considered a nice mansion, I don't know, I've seen nicer. But living in Pakistan right next to the military academy, everybody in Pakistan knew he was there. And we give Pakistan $1.3 billion a year and they don't tell him.'

Fox News host Chris Wallace asked if he'd give the Seals credit for taking out the terrorist leader.
'They took him down,' Trump said and added: 'Look, there's news right there, he lived in Pakistan, we're supporting Pakistan, we're giving them $1.3 billion a year, which we don't give them anymore, by the way, I ended it because they don't do anything for us, they don't do a damn thing for us.'
Bin Laden was killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan, on May 2, 2011, by U.S. special forces.
He had reportedly been living in the fortified compound less than a mile from Pakistan's Military Academy for years, raising questions on whether or not Pakistani officials had any knowledge of his where abouts. Pakistan denied any knowledge he was there.
Bin Laden reportedly didn't use the internet or cell phones in a bid to keep his presence a secret.
Wallace had been pressing Trump on his feud with various media outlets. The president has been a frequent critic of CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times and others - calling them 'fake media.'
'Sir, leaders in authoritarian countries like Russia, China, Venezuela, now repress the media using your words,' Wallace said.
'I can't talk for other people, I can only talk for me,' Trump replied.
'But you're seen around the world as a beacon for repression,' Wallace said.
'The news about me is largely phony,' Trump said in response. 'It's false. Even sometimes they'll say, uh, 'Sources say.' There is no source, in many cases.'
Wallace noted at the end of the pre-taped interview that McRaven has not endorsed in any presidential race.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
