«Breaking News» Abandoned dog found guarding neighbor's home after Camp Fire

A courageous border collie left to fend for herself in the deadly Camp Fire was found protecting the only home still standing on her block in Paradise.

Ella's owners, Mike and Leahna Copsey, and their daughters Clarisa, eight, and Emma, 10, were forced to evacuate their home after the blaze broke out November 8.

The family, who had no space in their car, left behind their dog, who was found alive in the neighborhood two days later.

A family friend returned to the area where the badly-burned and frightened pup was found guarding another resident's home.

Leahna Copsey, who was sure Ella didn't make it out of the blaze of alive, explained the relieving phone call she had with a family friend while speaking to the Visalia Times-Delta.

'She was protecting it... she was protecting the only house left on the block,' Copsey said.

Her daughter, Clarisa, also told the outlet: 'She’s a really good dog... so I was really relieved she was alive.'

The Copseys left their Paradise home and traveled to Lake County, roughly two hours away.

The border collie is currently being cared for by the couple's oldest daughter, Kayla, as the family works to rebuild what was lost.

'It’s definitely an odd feeling asking for financial help. And amongst the thousands of others that need help as well; my family and I are there too,' friend Mariah Atkins wrote.

'Like many other animals that have been affected by the Camp Fire, Ella is one of them.

'After going through the fire we are very lucky to have her back with us. And while vet bills have already been discounted for fire victims, it’s still adding up quickly.

'Already spending $250, any little bit helps for the future visits we will be making,' the crowdfunding page states.

The Butte Humane Society also assisted the family by providing food, a crate and toys for Ella.

A total of 76 people died in the Northern California Camp Fire as of Sunday afternoon.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
