Donald Trump met victims and families of people who were killed in the Thousand Oaks shooting earlier this month.

Former Marine Ian David Long, 28,  killed 11 and injured at least 21 others when he opened fire at the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks.

The crazed ex-Marine machine-gunner who served in Afghanistan then took his own life.

As the community attempted to cope with the loss, a wildfire the next day caused many in the town to evacuate.

The Woolsey Fire killed three people and destroyed more than 1,000 structures in the area which happened as the community coped with the trauma of the bar shooting.

President Trump today said he met with some of the families today as he visited neighborhoods incinerated by the worst wildfire in the history of the US.

Trump said: 'We just hugged them and we kissed them — and everybody. And it was very warm.

'It was tragic, and yet in one way it was a very beautiful moment,' Trump said, as he also met with first responders who assisted after the mass shooting.

He said he met with the 'parents of a very young supporter, a young supporter wearing a Trump shirt, and just a terrific young man'.

Trump said his tour of the devastation from the fires mixed with meeting those affected by the shooting was hard.

‘This has been a tough day when you look at all of the death from one place to the next,' the president said.

‘What can you say other than it’s so sad to see? These are great people. Great families, torn apart’.

The gunman behind the massacre, Ian David Long, 28, wore a hood, bandanna and black clothing as he indiscriminately fired into the crowd.

The Marine combat veteran posted to social media during his massacre, saying: 'It's too bad I won't get to see all the illogical and pathetic reasons people will put in my mouth as to why I did it,'  he wrote on Instagram.

‘Fact is I had no reason to do it, and I just thought ... (expletive), life is boring so why not?’, Long wrote.

Long was dressed in all-black and used a legally owned Glock.45 handgun during his savage attack on the people at the Borderline Bar.

He had an extended magazine on the pistol, and witnesses said he let off smoke grenades inside to confuse the terrified crowds as they ran for their lives.

Evie Cluke coached Ian David Long, 28 on Newbury Park High School’s track team in 2007 and 2008.

She described him as volatile and sadistic, saying he was a 'ticking time bomb' and it was only a matter of time before he carried out an atrocity.

Earlier this month , Cluke recalled a time when she and her father sat down with Long for a talk and asked him why he wanted to join the military. His answer, she said, 'is burned in my soul'.

'He said he wanted to be in the Marines because he wanted to go fight in the war for our country and he wanted to kill for our country,' she said.

'When you hear somebody say they want to be in the military because they want to kill people in the name of our country, that’s chilling. It chilled me right down to my bones'.

Cluke said Long would lose his temper, throw tantrums and scream, and that she witnessed him assault a fellow coach.

That coach, Dominique Colell told local media outlets that Long grabbed her rear and midsection after she refused to return a cellphone. Another time, he used his hand to mimic shooting her.

'When Dominique turned around and saw that, she turned pale as a ghost and it was very, very scary', Cluke said.

'Just sadistic. ... He was out of control. He would scream and cuss and his face would turn bright red and people would actually back away from him'.

The crazed ex-Marine machine-gunner ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
