President Donald Trump said he wasn't aware of Matt Whitaker's critical comments on special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation before he appointed him acting attorney general.
'I did not know that. I did not know he took views on the Mueller investigation as such,' the president said on 'Fox News Sunday.'
'I don't think it had any effect,' he added. 'If you look at those statements those statements they really can be viewed either way, but I don't think it will have any impact.'

Whitaker has fallen under intense scrutiny since Trump installed him after the election and ousted Jeff Sessions as attorney general, handing Whitaker direct oversight of the Mueller probe.
Democrats howled and brought up some of Whitaker's many public comments about the investigation, which President Trump has called a 'witch hunt.'
Whitaker, too, has applied that term to the investigation.
He wrote in an op-ed for CNN in 2017: 'Mueller has come up to a red line in the Russia 2016 election-meddling investigation that he is dangerously close to crossing.'
'If he were to continue to investigate the [Trump family's] financial relationships without a broadened scope in his appointment, then this would raise serious concerns that the special counsel's investigation was a mere witch hunt.'
Since Trump tapped him, Democrats have threatened to investigate Whitaker and closely monitor his conduct.
Trump defended his pick, however, and said Whitaker was right when he said there was no collusion between his presidential campaign and Russia.
'He's right. What do you do when a person's right? There is no collusion. He happened to be right. I mean, he said it. So if he said there is collusion, I'm supposed to be taking somebody that says there is? Because then I wouldn't take him for two reasons, but the number one reason is the fact that he would have been wrong. If he said that there's no collusion, he's right,' Trump said on 'Fox News Sunday.'
Fox News host Chris Wallace asked the president if he was okay with it if Whitaker decides to limit or curtail the Mueller investigation.
'It's going to be up to him,' the president responded. 'I think he's very well aware politically. I think he's astute politically. He's a very smart person. A very respected person. He's going to do what's right. I really believe he's going to do what's right.
He added: 'I would not get involved. And all these people that say I'm going to end the investigation, you know, they've been saying that now for -how long has this witch hunt gone on? It's gone on for, what?'
Shortly after he appointed Whitaker, the president denied ever taking his pulse over the Russia probe.

'I didn't speak to Matt Whitaker about it. I don't know Matt Whitaker. Matt Whitaker has a great reputation and that's what I wanted,' Trump told reporters after the election as he headed to Paris for a visit.
Trump also told Fox News he probably wouldn't sit down with Mueller and his team for a one-on-one interview.
'I would say probably. Probably. I mean, I can change my mind, but probably,' he said on Sunday.
He added: 'I think we've wasted enough time on this witch hunt and the answer is probably, we're finished.'
He also said he was finishing up his written answers to Mueller's questions and they would be submitted soon.
Wallace asked him the odds that it was finished.
'What are the odds? One in a hundred? What?,' he said.
'I don’t do odds,' Trump replied.
'You ran a casino sir,' Wallace noted.
'You’re right, and very successfully actually,' Trump said. 'We gave very, very complete answers to a lot of questions that I shouldn’t have even been asked and I think that should solve the problem, I hope it solves the problem, if it doesn’t, you know, I’ll be told and we’ll make a decision at that time. But probably this is the end.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
