«Breaking News» Theresa May tries to revive Brexit deal during public address after exodus of top cabinet members

Prime Minister Theresa May is pushing ahead with her Brexit deal one day after it sent a number of her top cabinet members heading for the door.

On Friday, May made an appearance on LBC Radio where she fielded calls and presented the deal her cabinet had ironed out with European Union officials.

That deal, which May said on Wednesday had the collective approval of her cabinet, will have to overcome some near-impossible hurdles before it could possible be put into effect some time next year.

The European Union leaders are expected to discuss the deal when they meet on November 25, after which it will go to the European Parliament for approval.

It should manage to pass through those initial steps, but will face a real obstacle when it comes in front of British parliament in mid-December.

The Prime Minister needs at least 318 votes in the Commons if all 650 MPs turns up - but can probably only be confident of around 230 votes.

It is estimated that May will need to get back around half of the 80 hardcore Conservative Party Brexiteer rebels and secure the support of the 10 Democratic Unionist Party MPs.

Even then she will probably still need the help of dozens of Labour MPs to save her deal and possibly her job.

May is also fighting for her own post as leader of the Conservative Party, with her grasp continuing to weaken in recent weeks.

She has never been in quite as fragile a position as she is now however following the exit of several top cabinet members on Thursday.

That move has served to embolden her opponents, who are now busy trying to hammer together the necessary support to send May packing from 10 Downing Street.

Tension is growing over the belief that May did not get the best possible deal while she and her team were negotiating in Brussels.

At the same time, there are some who are angered over a caveat that allowed for an open border between Ireland and Northern Ireland, which serves to honor the Good Friday Agreement.

And as the pound weakens and political tensions reach a boiling point there are others still who want another chance to vote on a referendum, and consider possibly staying in the EU.

May and her deal managed to live to see another day thanks in large part to the support of Michael Gove, the hard-line Brexiter who refused the top negotiating spot on Thursday but then pledged his loyalty to the Prime Minister and her cabinet on Friday.

The public was not much kinder to May either, with one caller responding to May's question about the weather during her radio appearance on Friday by asking for her resignation.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
