«Breaking News» Student hairdresser, 21, unmasked as gangster's moll who helped run £3m drugs empire

A student hairdresser has been jailed for five years after she was unmasked as a 'gangsters' moll' who helped her boyfriend and her two brothers run a £3m drugs empire in a seaside resort.

Mother-of-one Jessica Lang, 21, would join her boyfriend Scott Le Drew on cash deliveries and also liaised with her brothers Bradley and Anthony Gill as they arranged vast quantities of cocaine cannabis and amphetamine to be ferried to Blackpool.

Police using bugging equipment taped Lang as she sat in a car with Le Drew advising him how he should conduct his money collections - on occasions whilst children were overheard chattering in the back seat.

She also passed on messages between members of their gang using encrypted mobile phones as they peddled narcotics to desperate addicts in the Lancashire resort.

Customers included professional middleweight boxer Jack Arnfield who began dealing for the gang to pay off drug debts.

He lost a British middleweight bout just four days before raids on ten homes in February this year uncovered six kilograms of cocaine, worth £700,000 plus quarter of a kilo of amphetamine and £122,000 in cash.

Police said the amount of drugs seized was just a 'snapshot' of the true scale of the gang's operation in which it is believed 28kg of cocaine was trafficked between May 2016 and July 2017.

At Preston Crown Court on Tuesday Jessica Lang, from Grange Park, Blackpool, denied wrongdoing but was convicted of conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis.

Le Drew, 31, was jailed for 11 years and four months after he was convicted of conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs and possession of a prohibited weapon CS gas.

Anthony Gill, 33, from Middleton, Greater Manchester and Bradley Gill, 28, from Blackpool both admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine and were each sentenced to 14 years.

Det Ch Insp Stuart Dixon, of Lancashire Police, said the gang run by Lang's brother was behind huge quantities of illegal drugs hitting the streets, causing addiction and violence

Arnfield, 29, of Kirkham, was given a 12 month suspended jail sentence and ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

The court heard Anthony Gill would source drugs from his criminal contacts in Manchester and then organise the handover of cash and deliveries of cocaine with his brother.

Bradley controlled the Blackpool-based cash and drug couriers and dealt with the distributors.

In 2017, Le Drew took over as the Gills' primary cash collector, gathering in drugs money from the dealers. Police said his girlfriend Lang was aware of his activities and was with him whenever he was carrying out his work on her brothers' behalf.

Police later hid a bugging device on Le Drew's Ford car and listened in as he and Lang held a meeting with Arnfield in a B&Q car park to receive cash for drugs.

Anthony Gill, 33, from Manchester, ran a major criminal enterprise in partnership with his brother Bradley.   Responsible for sourcing their cocaine, he was sentenced to 14 years in jail

The exchange took place and a plastic bag was handed over and Lang was overheard ordering Le Drew to tell Arnfield to 'stop sitting in his car counting his money in the car park'.

Prosecutor Martin Reid said: 'Its apparent that Mr Arnfield was just going to hand the cash over loose and that's why Le Drew had to get the bag from his own car to put the cash in.'

Le Drew then told Lang to put the cash under the seat or in her handbag.

Lang and Le Drew were also bugged having conversations using slang words for drugs and the collection of cash with the blonde referring to another dealer saying: 'He wants to know how much Tuna's got now.' One call to the couple involved 'talk of money and something arriving that teatime.'

They were also heard having discussions about the arrest of other suspects after another person had texted them saying: 'They've just done my mate..'

The court was also told of an exchange in July last year involving the occupants of Le Drew's car and a black BMW near a pub car park when he spotted a police surveillance camera.

Le Drew was heard saying: 'There's a camera up there on that thingy. 'Should be all right though shouldn't it?' '

In a Facebook post before she was jailed this week, Lang said: 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, thanks to all my real friends and family for being there for me life goes on and nothing is forever.'

A relative added: 'My beautiful girl took away from me and her daughter just for being a naive silly girl like we all were at her age - that's so wrong.'

But Det Ch Insp Stuart Dixon, of Lancashire Police said after the case: 'This organised criminal gang was involved in bringing huge amounts of Class A drugs into Blackpool and profiting from their illicit trade.

'Organised crime, including the production and supply of drugs, the violence which controls this market, and how it impacts on vulnerable people, blights our communities and puts ordinary law-abiding people at risk.

'I would like to reassure the public we will keep up the pressure on those involved in serious and organised crime and continually striving to protect the most vulnerable.

'We will relentlessly pursue these offenders and put them before the courts to make our streets safer.'

Seven other members of the gang were also jailed for drugs offences. Bradley McSpirit, 25, of Blackpool who helped with deliveries was jailed for 11 years and four months whilst Blu Leahy, 24, of Blackpool who sourced cocaine supplies was jailed for eight years.

Daryl Wellings, 29, of Blackpool got ten years and eight months after he worked for the Gills as a cash collector.

Joseph Murphy, 28, of Fleetwood who worked as a drugs courier got ten years jail. John Casey, 32, a distributor of Blackpool, who sourced cocaine from the Gills was jailed for nine years and four months.

Declan Morgan, 25, another distributor from Blackpool, was jailed for eight years and eight months. Steven Miller, 25 from Fleetwood was jailed for six years.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
