'Was in pieces last night. Suicidal. Luckily I have a good mate to talk me off the edge. But people need to know how tough these drugs are to come off. Torture. Absolute hell.

'Please find the strength and focus to find the way out of your darkness. There is light. There really is.'

The brave star, who placed third on last year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has spoken openly about his battle with depression, revealing in May that he was sexually abused as a child, which he believed was a trigger.

One supporter wrote in response to the tweet: 'Sounds terrible man! I wish you nothing but peace, love, happiness and health. You're a good soul x

Another added: 'Just read your blog about coming off them. I feel for you. Sounds like you've had a bloody rough time of it. To come off them after that, you're a stronger man than your brain lets on. '

A third wrote: 'Life has it's challenges, Those who face & overcome them, Are rewarded in the end. Positive vibes. Stay strong.'

MailOnline has contacted Iain's representative for comment.

The comic, who shot to fame alongside Ricky Gervais on Channel 4’s The 11 O’Clock Show in 1998, admitted that, on leaving the jungle last year, he had begun seeing a therapist with a view to coming off his anti-depressants.

He said at the time: 'I saw my psychiatrist today, because ITV are paying for three sessions with my psychiatrist.

'I want to come off my antidepressants, because there was a minor relapse a few weeks ago with stuff going on. The jungle was weird and had a profound effect on me.'

'The best way I can describe it... after I took LSD for the first time, and I've only done it a handful of times, for the next year at least I saw and perceived everything differently.'

In May the star revealed that he was sexually abused as a child by a Scout leader.

Iain added that he believes the abuse triggered his depression and even caused him to consider suicide, after grappling with the ordeal since the age of 8.

He said: 'A lot of my depression comes around self-loathing, shame and guilt. How do I say this? There was a bit of sexual abuse that went on as a kid. A scout master and stuff, which kind of weighed heavily on me.

'It is the most horrendous messed-up scenario, it was humiliating and it was shameful, and I remember getting home to my mum and dad and never telling them. I never told them.

He added: 'I think it certainly played a part in my depression, what happened to me at the age of eight. I can see that as the starting point for it. Because up until then the memories I do have are generally quite happy.

'Now I feel embarrassed and ashamed talking about it, it was 35 years ago.'

Having never told his parents about the abuse, the comedian revealed that staying silent forced him to contemplate taking his own life.

He began: 'I was out walking the dog and we were in these woods and I just thought, "F***, this is really off the beaten track, I could get a bit of rope. I could hang myself here and no-one would find me for ages."

'And I really allowed myself to go off into this fantasy.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
