«Breaking News» Actor David Arquette left covered in blood from neck wound after losing wrestling match to Nick Gage

A savage professional wrestling match between actor David Arquette and Nick Gage left the Scream star covered in blood after shards of glass sliced his neck in Los Angeles on Friday.

Arquette, 47, suffered the injury during a Deathmatch, a style of professional wrestling which is notorious for its competitors' use of makeshift weapons for maximum bloodshed.

Arquette was on all fours with Gage, 38, hovering over his back, when the ex-convict smashed light tubes over his head, sending glass flying through the air and cutting the Indie wrestling newcomer, nearly ending the fight then and there.

Gage ended up winning the contest with a pin, after which he said, '[Deathmatch wrestlers] bleed every day — and we love it,' according to Cageside Seats.

A few hours after the bloody melee, Arequette tweeted, 'Turns out Death Matches aren’t my thing,' while letting his fans know he was going to be fine.

Arquette is a former World Championship Wrestling champion from two decades ago, but has only recently returned to the fighting world.

The event on Friday was put on by Game Changer Wrestling at Joey Janela's LA Confidential and aired on pay-per-view at Fite TV.

Arquette can be seen on video in the moment he realizes his neck has been cut, quickly moving his hand to the spot where blood was pouring out of his body.

The athlete was visibly shaken, leaving the ring briefly in what seemed at first like a forfeit.

But Arquette eventually returned to be pinned by Gage and end the match, then immediately raced off the mat rather than engaging in the typical fanfare following the end of a wrestling matchup.

But there was absolutely nothing missing from the rest of the fight.

Throughout the course of the actor's battle with the ex-convict, a label which Gage makes bold use of for his wrestling persona, multiple light tubes were smashed on both contenders.

Gage also put Arquette through a door that had a spear lodged through its corner, and used the resulting shambles of the door to repeatedly hit Arquette over the head.

Later, Arquette let his fans know he was OK, tweeting a photo of one of his tattoos which had been scratched in the brawl.

'Thank you to all the fans for your love I’m a stitched up. Miss Elizabeth is crying,' he wrote early on Saturday morning.

Gage was first set to face off against Joey Ryan, but Ryan tore multiple muscles, including his pectoral, last week so he had to cancel the engagement.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
