«Breaking News» Swansea Welsh nurse Charlotte Carter who died on holiday in Dubai body brought back to UK

A nurse who died on a girls' holiday in Dubai has been returned to Britain after friends and family raised almost £30,000 to bring her home.

Charlotte Carter had been 'excited' for her winter sunshine holiday with friends and was due to stay at the plush Five Palm Jumeirah hotel.

However, the 30-year-old mental health nurse began feeling ill on the flight before suffering a heart attack in a taxi to their hotel.

She was taken into intensive care and resuscitated 'multiple times' but tragically died.

Charlotte, of Swansea, South Wales, did not take out travel insurance ahead of the trip and her family faced £30,000 costs to cover medical bills and to bring her home to the UK.

A crowdfunding page set up by friend, Megan Boyes, raised £28,322 in 13 days - enough to bring Charlotte home to Wales.

Susan Carter, Charlotte's mother, said: 'Our beautiful Charlotte crossed the Severn Bridge into Wales at 17:57.

'We could not have got this far without each and every one of you. So so many thanks.'

'We are overwhelmed by the support we have received from everyone. All your love and kindness is the only thing that is getting us through this.

'From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for helping us get our beautiful girl home to us.'

A post mortem examination is due to be held in Britain to determine her cause of death.

A Foreign Office and Commonwealth spokesman said: 'We are supporting the family of a British woman following her death in the UAE, and are in contact with the Emirati authorities.'

Charlotte had flown with two female friends on October 29 from Gatwick Airport and the group ordered bottles of champagne before taking off.

Friend Megan Boyes, who set up a crowdfunding page, said: 'Our gorgeous friend Charlotte tragically lost her life at the age of 30.

'She was so excited to go on holiday to Dubai on a girls trip but sadly she fell ill on the flight which resulted in her being taken to intensive care once arriving in Dubai.

'After being resuscitated multiple times she unfortunately couldn't be saved.

'Charlotte was the most caring, kind and thoughtful person and she dedicated her life to helping others as a mental health nurse. She was taken from us far too young.'

Friend Melissa Jenkins, who flew to Dubai with Charlotte, said she was 'heartbroken'.

She said: 'Get our girl home - Charlotte Carter we love you.

'Dubai will always have a piece of my heart but has also taken away a piece.

'Live your life you never know what's round the corner....always my angel xxx.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
