«Breaking News» Polyamorous who's dating a man and woman - and she insists she's 'in love' with both of them

Gone are the days when intimate relationships were shared between two people.

And an Australian woman, who identifies herself as polyamorous, has opened up about how she embraces sexual relationships with multiple people.

Penny has been in polyamorous relationships for five years - a lifestyle where she enjoys spending time with more than one person on an emotional level.

Like any monogamous relationship, the woman goes out with the man or woman she 'loves' on romantic dates, cuddles up with them on the couch and has sex with them.

She explained her diary can get 'very chaotic' after she found herself dating as many as six people at the same time.

Speaking to The Sex Files podcast, Penny - who's currently dating a man and a woman - said despite sleeping with more than one partner, she insists she's in love with both of them.

However, she said she does not define her lifestyle as being in an 'open relationship'.

'I always found that the open relationship label is much more applied to people who have an existing monogamous relationship and they choose to open it up,' she said.

'It's mostly just about having sexual relationships with other people and less about having emotional invested relationships with them, whereas polyamorous really does allow you to have that emotional connection and have the equality relationships.

'It's one of those things that's defined a bit differently by everyone who identifies themselves under polyamory. But for me, it means freedom to love without limits.'

Five years ago after her monogamous relationship ended, Penny said she was back on the dating scene when she met polyamorous people.

'I started dating some people who identified themselves as polyamorous so it was a new experience to learn about the way they date and treat people,' she said.

'Once I started identifying with it more, it felt really right.'

For Penny, she said the attraction of being in polyamorous relationships was being able to share her love with more than one partner.

'I was monogamous through my dating life and I always felt like I wanted something just beyond the walls of monogamy,' she said.

'I had intense loving connections with friends and some of my monogamous partners had issues with that because I guess it felt like that sort of connection belonged to them but polyamory allows me to share in different ways with different people.

'What really appealed to me about it was the concept of you don't only have one friend, and you don't only love one of your children. Love relationships seems to be the only place where we seem to limit this, you can only love one person.

'The idea that it wasn't true just felt amazing to me and I was really excited about introducing that into my life.'

During the years living as a polyamorous, Penny said she once juggled upwards of six partners at a time.

'Juggling multiple relationships is definitely one of the greatest challenges of polyamory. There have been times where I had been juggling upwards of five or six partners at a time and it gets really crazy,' she said.

'My diary gets to a very chaotic place full of a lot of things.'

She's currently in a relationship with a man and woman.

'It's quite refreshing and it's easy considering the fact that my girlfriend is actually a long distance relationship currently, she lives about five hours drive away from me so we see each other once a month basis,' Penny said.

'Whereas my boyfriend, I get to see weekly. In general it's a lot of planning and my diary is very full and generally about three months ahead of time.'

As for jealousy, Penny insists she has hardly felt any envy since pursuing the lifestyle.

'Jealousy is not a horrible or evil thing you have to conquer. I've been fortunate enough in the fact that I generally don't feel much jealousy,' she said.

So how does their sleeping arrangement work?

'There's certainly an understanding about when multiple partners are going to be over at the place at the same time and it has happened to me,' she said.

'I mean the idea of threesomes is really awesome but mainly the best thing is the cuddles. My bed is only a double so generally it comes down to one of them gets to sleep in the bed and one of them get the incredible queen inflatable mattress.

'More often than not, it's the one that I have seen less of that gets bed privileges.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
