«Breaking News» Nikolas Cruz asked a victim's brother for a ride after the massacre

Florida school gunman Nikolas Cruz asked the brother of a student he had just shot for a ride after the massacre, authorities say.

The 19-year-old shooter had fled with other students to a nearby McDonald's after he opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland on February 14.

Cruz approached one student, John Wilford, who was waiting for his mother to pick him up and asked if he could also have a ride.

Wilford's 17-year-old sister Maddy had just moments before been severely injured when she was shot in the chest, abdomen and arm by Cruz.

The details of Cruz's conversation with the victim's brother were revealed by Pinellas County Sheriff's Sgt. John Suess on Thursday at the public safety commission, which is investigating the shooting.

'It’s my belief this is pure happenstance that he sits at a table with the brother of one of his victims,' Suess said, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Suess said Cruz was 'pretty pushy' when he asked Wilford for a ride.

Wilford then left the McDonald's and Cruz followed shortly after. Wilford had apparently rebuffed his request for a ride.

Cruz then walked off on his own before being spotted by an officer and arrested about two miles from the school.

Maddy, meanwhile, was treated in hospital for her injuries after being found bleeding heavily inside the school building.

At a press conference just weeks after the massacre, Maddy - who underwent multiple surgeries to remove bullet fragments - tearfully thanked the first responder who saved her life.

Cruz faced court again this week on charges of attacking a detention officer at the county jail where he has been held ever since the shooting.

He now faces new assault charges, including use of the officer's electric stun device, authorities said Wednesday.

His bail for the assault charge was set at $200,000 but he won't be released because he's being held without bond on the murder charges.

The Broward Sheriff's Office confirmed that Cruz assaulted Sgt. Raymond Beltran around 6pm on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old Cruz already faces the death penalty in the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland that killed 17 people and wounded 17 others.

He's pleaded not guilty in the shooting but his lawyers say he would plead guilty in exchange for a life prison sentence.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
