«Breaking News» New Mexico author of books on Native American spirituality sues hospital for resuscitating her

A New Mexico author of books about the Native American spirituality and healing is suing the hospital for causing her heart attack - and saving her as well.

Jamie Sams, 67, known for writing books on Native American medicine and spirituality, filed a lawsuit this week in New Mexico state district court against Santa Fe's Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, according to The Albuquerque Journal.

The suit says the hospital and Dr. Jamie Gagan, who treated her, are to blame for her cardiac arrest because she was given the painkiller, Dilaudid, even after she told staff she was allergic to it.

She also contends the hospital's negligence was compounded when personnel resuscitated her - contradicting her 'Double DNR (do not resuscitate)' form.

Allegedly, she even wore a purple bracelet with 'DNR' issued by the hospital, according to the lawsuit.

'While we cannot comment on any patient information, CHRISTUS St. Vincent strives to deliver and provide health care that is appropriate to each patient’s unique needs,' hospital spokesperson, Arturo Delgado said in a statement sent to DailyMail.com. 'CHRISTUS St. Vincent maintains a robust Advanced Directives policy that includes forms expressing a patient’s desire to not be resuscitated or intubated. '

Listed as a holy person of Cherokee of Seneca descent on the website Native Americans Online, she is said to describe indigenous people's approach to dying being like a bow, and people are the arrows.

Her website Jamiesamsbooks.com lists seven books she authored or co-authored on topics of Native American wisdom, such as 'Earth Medicine: Ancestor's Ways of Harmony for Many Moons' and 'Medicine Cards: The Discovery of Power Through the Ways of Animals.'

She also collaborated with musician John York, former member of The Byrds, on an album entitled 'Clan Mother Songs,' that features 'ancient chants of the clan mothers for every child of the Earth.'

'Medicine Cards' co-authored by Sams is about the 'the evolving life-lessons that we need to embrace as human beings facing the new millennium and our continued healing processes.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that Sams also suffers from the 'extremely debilitating and painful' disease, Dercum's, an illness that produces fatty, benign tumors to grow upon the body.

A letter to her readers in 2016 announces the closure of two medicine-related websites she had been running called Children of Earth and Emerging Worlds due to Internet costs and the volume of 'requests for alternative healing methods and source material to get started in every individual's situation.'

'It became overwhelming for me since I was the one personally answering most questions and referring people to holistic and ceremonial methods of healing to be used along with medical care,' Sams wrote at the time.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
