«Breaking News» Mother looks forward to happy Christmas with her son after discovering her 17 tumours in her skull

A first-time mother who discovered her 'baby brain' forgetfulness was actually 17 tumours in her skull is looking forward to spending Christmas with her son.

Lisa Preston, 33, from Hixon, Staffordshire, thought her headaches and memory loss were due to the stress of bringing up her newborn baby Oliver.

But seven months after he was born doctors told her she had numerous tumours and cancer in her brain.

Mrs Preston thought she was in the clear after a mole on her back was diagnosed as a melanoma and removed the year before her son was born.

And when Mrs Preston discovered she was pregnant with her first child, she said she was delighted to have some 'happy news'.

Mrs Preston told The Daily Star: 'But four months after giving birth I started getting awful headaches and I was forgetting everything.

'I couldn't focus on anything and I felt constantly exhausted. I was convinced it was just 'baby brain' and the efforts of being a mum.'

After suffering from blurred vision, Mrs Preston finally went for an MRI and CT scan and the tumours were discovered.

She was told she would need life-saving surgery and had to go under the knife just before Christmas last year.

She said: 'I started to have symptoms in September, with lots of headaches, and was told it had come back in November. My son was seven months old at the time.

'They said the tumours could have been there for seven months and it's possible I had the cancer when I was pregnant.'

Since her operation last year she said the biggest gift has been spending more time with Oliver.

'It's been hard,' she said. 'In a way, I'm lucky with him being the age he is. He doesn't understand what's gone on.

'The lowest point was after my operation. I didn't want them to bring my son to the hospital.'

Tiredness has been one of the side effects of her medication. Having to stay up at night to soothe her baby's teething has added to the strain.

The former nurse is now looking forward to spending Christmas this year with her son.

She told The Daily Star: 'I still can't believe my "baby brain" turned out to be brain cancer but I'm making the most of every second with my family.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
