«Breaking News» Massive land, water search launched after charging ‘father who sacrificed his nine-month-old baby’

A major new search by police specialists is underway as investigations into the alleged 'sacrificial murder' of a nine-month-old baby continue.

Dozens of divers and detectives descended on the far-north New South Wales suburb of Tweed Heads on Monday morning.

They believe the child was thrown into the Tweed River on November 17 and washed up on a Gold Coast beach 30km north less than two days later.

The baby's father was charged with murder on Thursday just hours after being extradited from Queensland.

Water police and divers will search the Tweed River and foreshore while specialists from the Public Order and Riot Squad will scour a local park and harbour.

Locals told the Courier Mail they saw dive squads re-enacting the alleged murder over the weekend.

'They looked like they were throwing clothing into the river,' a local resident said.

'There were police divers and a cameraman so it was clearly some sort of re-enactment or simulation-type exercise.'

Police would not comment on the specifics of the investigations, but are believed to be diving under the same tidal and current conditions as the alleged drowning to determine how her body came to be 30km from where they believe it was dumped.

A black and red checkered blanket may hold the key to the timeline of the hours after the young girl's death.

'We have a number of items of interest that we are searching for, in particular a black and red chequered blanket similar to a picnic blanket which may have a rubber or vinyl backing on one side,' said Detective Inspector Wayne Walpole.

'We've got investigations which show us people with that blanket at certain times and we believe that after the baby was murdered that blanket was no longer in their possession.'

The baby was tossed into the river near Jack Evans Boat Harbour - an area of interest for detectives on Monday - by her father, court documents allege.

Authorities claim the Aboriginal father told the child's young mother he was going to give her to an elder before killing her.

A homeless family, the nine-month-old and her two-year-old brother had been living with the accused father, 48, and mother, 23, in parks along the Gold Coast.

Investigations into claims by police that the Department of Child Services repeatedly ignored urgent calls for help are also underway.

They believe the child...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
