'No better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself.'

Morgan, 52, who plays imprisoned killer Negan on the hit AMC show made a barbed response on Twitter.

'Looks like you found a way to use others ways of mourning and their memories to draw some attention to yourself. You sound like a real a**hat,' Morgan tweeted in response, according to CBR.com.

Hammer's sarcastic tweet quickly attracted widespread criticism from followers who claimed The Lone Ranger star was instructing people how to grieve, with one writing: 'They... worked with him?' to which the actor responded ' Me... too?'

When another fan wrote: 'what else u supposed to do when someone dies armie' he bit back 'If your answer is “post a selfie” then I think we need a cultural revamp across the board.'

Another follower wrote: 'Maybe they’re just remembering how it felt to meet him with those photos. That’s how I would feel. I never got the chance.'

Armie responded: 'If Stan impacted your life (ie. All of our lives) with his work, post his work that touched you the most. Posting a selfie makes his death about you and how cool you felt taking a picture with him.'

One fan wrote: so...? if people have met him or knew him during his life what’s wrong with bringing up that good memory as a way to remember him and all that he’s done....?

'also not to mention how contradicting this tweet is. you’re doing even worse than what you’re stating by making a legend and his passing about something so materialistic and unnecessary? there’s nothing wrong with people remembering him in their own way....

'i adore you armie and always live for what you have to say but this is just not needed.'

Another fan accused Armie of putting the spotlight onto himself rather than Stan's death, writing: 'Aaaaaaaand just by telling people how to grieve, you've made this wonderful man's passing, all about you.

'I'm a fan of yours 100%, but this was just not right. Also some of those "celebrities" are your friends. And human beings.'

One fan wrote: 'I’m really confused on why you would bring attention to something so minuscule and manipulate it into something negative? Everyone grieves differently. You’ve just now made this entirely about you and your personal preference instead of paying your respects like everyone else.

Another added: 'So touched by your heartfelt response to the death of genius writer Stan Lee...no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than making things all about yourself as you make no sentimental gesture and instead mock how other people choose to grieve and/or honour an icon.

While another wrote: 'I know this comes out of a place of your own grief...& seeing people you feel are using the moment for self promotion. I’m sure that is true in some cases, but remember other people are processing their own feelings of grief & photos are a pretty common way to connect to a memory

The co-founder of Marvel Comics had been in declining health for the past year, and there had been a number of battles regarding who would inherit his $70 million fortune.

Lee is survived by his daughter and only child Joan Celia, known as 'J.C.'

His wife Joan died in July last year after suffering complications from a stroke. The pair had been married for 70 years at the time of her death.

Lee was also a veteran, and his final tweet was sent out by his team on Sunday and commemorated his time in the service with a photo of the beloved comic-book creator in his uniform during World War II.

Lee rose to fame in 1961 when he turned Timely Comics, where he started out in the industry as an assistant, into Marvel Comics.

That change came about in the 1960s, and Lee then proceeded to oversee the creation of many of the iconic superheroes people around the world know and love to this day.

The Incredible Hulk, Thor, the X-Men, Dr. Strange, Iron Man, Spider-Man and Captain America were just a few of the many superhuman, and super flawed, characters crated by Lee and artist Jack Kirby.

The relationship between Lee and Marvel had grown contentious in his final months however, and in May he filed a billion-dollar lawsuit against the company.

The comic-book legend was still a big part of the Marvel universe until his death though, making a cameo in every Marvel Studios film since 1993, with his most recent appearance being in Venom, which has proven to be yet another blockbuster.

That film, released in early October, had grossed $674 million at the worldwide box office as of Sunday on a $100 million budget.

Lee also served as an executive producer on these titles, which helped boost his fortune in a very big way in recent years.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
