Billionaire Democrat Tom Steyer, who is obsessed with bringing impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump, said he is undecided about whether to challenge the president himself in 2020.
'I haven't decided to run for president,' he said Sunday on NBC's 'Meet the Press.'
Steyer has been visiting early 2020 voting states like New Hampshire, holding town halls with voters. He's also invested $110 million in the midterm campaign, helping Democrats win back control the House of Representatives.

President Trump has called Steyer 'wacky'
'During 2018, I was full-time working on grassroots organizing Americans to get their voices heard in the country. What I'm doing right now is putting out an agenda, a framework for a social contract for the 21st century, which I called the Five Rights, which are the rights that Americans need to be free to pursue their own life and their own destiny,' he said.
Steyer said his agenda pushing isn't necessarily a means for him to run his own campaign but a message he wants to see Democratic presidential contenders support.
'I'm putting it out there for all the people who are running for president to look at and get behind. Because what's missing in American politics is a positive vision of what this country stands for and what the social contract is with American citizens so they can be protected in the world and have the freedom to go forward and live out the lives they want to live,' he said.
His 'five rights' focus on education, the environment, voting rights, the economy and health care.
He'll got a tour to promote these rights starting on Dec. 4 with stops in Charleston, S.C.; Fresno, Calif.; Nevada; New Hampshire; and Iowa.
The potential Democratic field is filled with big names such as former Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders.
Steyers would be a major contender if he runs because of the money he could put behind his bid. But another billionaire, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, is also mulling a bid.
Steyer wants House Democrats to take up impeachment proceedings when they control the chamber in January.
'I think it's an absolute first step to getting towards a positive vision for the country,' he said.
'I think there's no question that this president has both met the grounds for impeachment and that it's urgent to get him out of office and everything,' he added.
Trump called Steyer 'wacky' on Twitter, a bout of name-calling that came after the California billionaire received a pipe bomb similar to ones that were sent the president's political rivals.
And, before the 2018 election, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi sounded a note of caution about what the Democrats would do if power swung back their way, saying she didn't like the word 'impeachment' - something that would disappoint the far left in the party, who are eager to see impeachment proceedings being against Trump.

Michael Bloomberg and Bernie Sanders are also said to be considering 2020 bids
Democrats would 'make sure we are exercising our balance of power,' she said, adding she hears on the campaign trail that people want 'checks and balances' in the federal government.
She dismissed talk by liberals that Trump should be impeached - either over any potential finding that his campaign colluded with Russia in 2016 or over something in his financial records, which she has Democrats will request should they take control of the House.
'Impeachment - to use that word - is very divisive. That isn't a path I would like to go down,' she said.
In October 2017, Steyer spent around $10 million for a television ad campaign advocating for Trump's impeachment and founded the group: Need to Impeach.
And he sank at least $110 million in the midterm elections, making him the biggest investor on the left in campaign cash.
Steyer founded Farallon Capital and made his fortunes through the hedge fund, which was managing $20 billion by the time he left the company in October 2012 to work on clean energy issues.
His wealth and political involvement has stirred up talk he may make his own bid for public office: such as a 2020 presidential challenge.
Adding to the talk, Steyer was in New Hampshire in July arguing for Trump's impeachment.
He argues Trump has violated the emoluments clause of the Constitution and has obstructed justice.
'He's met the criteria to be impeached. He's dangerous to our democracy. He's dangerous to the safety and health of the American people,' Steyer said in New Hampshire.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
