A woman pretended her husband was dead to claim £400,000 on his life insurance, a court has heard.

Bekezela Bhebhe, 52, faked his own death between 1 August and 30 September 2016, it is claimed.

Zimbabwean Bhebe appeared at City of London Magistrates Court where he denied one count of fraud by false representation.

His South African wife Thulile Bhebhe, 49, admitted the same charge at the hearing.

Prosecutor Julian Pozimski told magistrates: 'This is a case involving the provision of a life insurance policy of £397, 153.'

He said that, if found guilty, Mr Bhebe, could get up to five years in prison and so the case should be heard at a Crown Court.

Magistrate Colin Bateman-Jones told the couple: 'The question of Mr Bhebhe's guilt will be a matter for a trial.'

Bekezela Bhebhe, of Hayes, Middlesex, will appear at Inner London Crown Court on December 13.

Thulile Bhebhe, of the same address, will be sentenced after her husband's trial has concluded.

The couple were released on unconditional bail.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
