«Breaking News» Donald Trump claims the 30 foot border wall will be harder to scale than Mount Everest

Donald Trump has claimed the 30 foot border wall will be harder to scale than Mount Everest - which stands at nearly 30,000 ft.

The President made the claim during a speech Wednesday to a conference of the Major County Sheriffs and Major Cities Chiefs Association.

He said the wall is 'very, very on its way' and says people will have to be in extremely good physical shape to scale it. He said migrants trying to cross illegally 'would be able to climb Mount Everest a lot easier'.

Trump told the gathered law enforcement officials in Washington: 'This wall is very, very on its way. It's happening as we speak. We're building as we speak in the most desperately needed areas.

'It's a big wall. It's a strong wall, and it's a wall that people aren't going through very easy. They're gonna have to be in extremely good shape to get over this one. They would be able to climb Mount Everest a lot easier I think.'

Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world and more than 200 people have died trying to climb it. The estimated height for some proposed barriers runs as high as 30 feet.

As of this week, the military had installed about 105 miles of wire barriers along the border, and plans to put in another 140 miles of concertina wire. 

The bulk of that will be in California and Arizona, in locations between ports of entry that are identified by U.S. Customs and Border Protection as vulnerable.

The White House announced Thursday that Trump will sign a bipartisan spending deal but will declare a 'national emergency' in an effort to procure funds to build a border wall.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders in a statement: 'President Trump will sign the government funding bill, and as he has stated before he will also take other executive action - including a national emergency - to ensure we stop the national security and humanitarian crisis at the border. The President is once again delivering on his promise to build the wall, protect the border, and secure our great country.' 

It drew both statements of relief from lawmakers who wanted to avoid another government shutdown but also a threat from Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the emergency declaration.

Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world and stands at 29,000 ft

The Senate adopted the legislative package by a vote of 83-16 minutes after the White House announced its support. The House was to follow suit Thursday night.

But Pelosi, even while touting the package as the product of compromise, bristled at Trump's stated move to get around strict funding limits it included, namely $1.4 billion for border fencing. 

Following the 35-day shutdown, Trump allowed a bipartisan group of lawmakers from both parties to negotiate a compromise. Pulling away from it could once again tag Trump with producing a shutdown.

The agreement provides $1.4 billion for border fencing, but not the $5.7 Trump demanded for wall construction. Trump has been tweaking his rhetoric as the deal approached. His Tuesday rally at the Texas border city of El Paso had banners that said 'finish the wall,' and Trump says repeatedly that it is already being built.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
