«Breaking News» X Factor: Viewers fuming as Acacia and Aaliyah perform the same song for a THIRD time

They were unsuccessful in their bid to reach the X Factor final, after they were eliminated at the end of Sunday night's episode.

But viewers were fuming for a different reason, as they raged about the fact that Acacia, 15, and Aaliyah, 14, performed a mashup of Big For Your Boots by Stormzy and Shutdown by Skepta for the third time in the competition.

During their sing-off with Scarlett Lee, the duo also performed Blinded By Your Grace by Stormzy and I Win by Lethal Bizzle for a second time, after singing it the night before during the ABBA-themed semi-final.

It's not the first time that the pair, who were mentored by Robbie Williams in the groups category, had to perform the same song multiple times.

They first performed Big For Your Boots during the Judges Houses' stage, before later singing it during the sing-off in week three's Fright Night episode, and then again on Sunday.

While they sang Shutdown during week two's Guilty Pleasures' episode as a mashup with All My Life by K-Ci & JoJo, before then singing it again for the sing-off in week four when they were in the bottom two.

Fans took to Twitter in their droves to complain about the duo's song choices, as one wrote: '#XFactor is this the third time now that acacia and Aaliyah have done the SAME stormzy song? f*** off my screen pls x'

Another slammed their mentor for saying Dalton Harris' song choice was 'boring', as they hit out: 'Robbie criticises Dalton's song choice as boring. Yet he chooses a song for his act that they have already performed twice before?'

While another wrote: 'Xfactor this is the semi final and this is the 3th (sic) or 4th time they have sung this? na get out now I'm bored.'

Another added: 'Is big for your boots the only song acacia and aaliyah can sing? They must have sang it about 5 times wtf #xfactor'

Giving it their all: Despite having already sung the hip-hop tracks before on the show, the crowd and judges were thoroughly entertained by the duo

Despite having already sung the hip-hop tracks before on the show, the crowd and judges were thoroughly entertained by the duo.

Simon had a moving message, as he told them: 'I wasn't expecting to have this conversation with you today, but you along with Dalton have earned your rightful place in the final.'

He then added: 'I've met many kids they're never given the support, they're never given any opportunities. You represent a lot to every kid like you. I think you deserve it, you're amazing you two.'

While Louis said: 'What's great about this show is development, and every single week you've got better and better, there's so much potential in the two of you.'

Supportive: Although they didn't make it through to the final, Robbie told them that they 'have a huge future in the music industry' which he hopes to be a part of

Ayda added: 'I just think you are just incredible, you just shut down ever single time. You've been in the bottom, but you've shown what it takes to be in the music industry.'

Robbie kept things simple, as he pleaded with the public to vote for them.

Unfortunately for Robbie, his pleas fell on deaf ears and Acacia and Aaliyah missed out on a spot in the final three.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
