«Breaking News» Sweet photo of Kate Middleton and Prince Louis sent to fans following his christening

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have thanked well-wishers with a sweet photograph of Kate and Prince Louis following their baby son's christening.

Kate, 36, and William, also 36, have been sending thank you cards to fans featuring the Duchess holding baby Louis, now six-months-old, in her arms as he gave an adorable wide grin.

The heartwarming picture was taken by photographer Matt Porteous in the gardens of Clarence House, following Louis' christening in July.

In a separate note to well-wishers, the Duke and Duchess also acknowledged the delay in responding to fans due to the 'enormous volume' of letters received.

The thank you card was shared on Instagram by fan account swedens.royal.family, who wrote to Kate and William in July.

The message inside the card read: 'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were touched that you took the trouble to write on the occasion of the Baptism of their son, Prince Louis.

'Their Royal Highnesses are so grateful for all the wonderful messages they have received and send you their warmest thanks and best wishes'.

A separate note added: 'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hope you will understand that, due to the enormous volume of correspondence received in the last few months, it has not been possible to reply to you until now.'

The photograph of Kate and Prince Louis in his christening gown, taken in the gardens of Clarence House, was released by Kensington Palace in July, in addition to four official portraits

Sharing the picture on social media, the Palace said: 'The Duke and Duchess hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do.'

Photographer Matt Porteous was asked by William and Kate to take some private shots for their personal family album, in addition to the 'historic' formal portraits captured by official photographer Matt Holyoak.

But aides said the couple loved this particular shot of Kate and baby Louis so much that they decided to release it to the public.

The latest thank you letters from Kate and William come after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also apologised for the delay in sending out their thank you cards to well-wishers, more than five months after their wedding in May.

A royal fan revealed last week that she only received her thank you note this week, accompanied by a letter of apology from Kensington Palace.

Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, have been sending fans cards featuring their official black-and-white wedding portrait, taken outside St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in May by photographer Alexi Lubomirski.

The head of general correspondence, Claudia Spens, explained how it had been a 'particularly busy time for this office', meaning that they have been 'unable to reply as quickly as we would have liked to'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
