«Breaking News» Stan Lee laid to rest in private funeral as more memorials are in the works for the Marvel mogul

Stan Lee has been laid to rest in a quiet and intimate send off, surrounded by only those that were closest to him.  

A small, private funeral was held to mourn the Marvel Comics mogul and his company is making more plans to memorialize him.

POW! Entertainment, Lee's company, said the comic book legend never wanted a large send off, the Associated Press reported on Friday.

'Stan was always adamant that he did not want a large public funeral, and as such his family has conducted a private closed ceremony in accordance with his final wishes,' Lee's company POW! Entertainment said in a statement to the AP.

POW! Entertainment has set up a memorial wall on Lee's website where friends, colleagues and fans can share thoughts, prayers and tributes to Lee.

Messages from fellow creators and artists will also be posted on Lee's social media pages in the coming days.

The company says further memorial plans are in the works, and hopes to share more details soon.

'The grandeur of Stan makes this a monumental task,' the statement said.

The 95-year-old was declared dead after being rushed to a Los Angeles hospital on Monday. No cause of death has been given.

He co-created some of the most recognizable comic book franchises.

The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, and many of the other heroes in the Marvel comic and cinematic universes were all the brainchild of the legend.

He was a hero himself to fans who frenzied for his movie cameos and public appearances as he remained an ambassador for Marvel until the end of his life.

Lee, who was notorious for popping up in bit roles in his blockbuster films will continue to live on, in part, in the Marvel Universe. 

The so-called king of the cameo appears in the upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet and Spider-Man: Intro the Spider-Verse, which both come out in 2018.

The Wrap is also reporting that he will make cameos in the Disney Marvel films Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel, set for release in 2019.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
