«Breaking News» Police: 3 people shot and wounded at Albuquerque business

A warehouse worker from Albuquerque opened fire on his 20 colleagues, injuring three, before turning the gun on himself on Monday.

Police responded to reports of an active shooter after gunshots rang out at Ben E. Keith Co., on the 3200 block of Broadway, at around 6.15pm last night.

Waid Anthony Melton, 30, an employee at the warehouse, fled after the shooting and was found dead near his truck a few hours later from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His victims were rushed to hospital in a critical condition. 

They have not yet been identified.

The motive for the mass shooting is still unclear.

'Police are investigating this scene,' Officer Simon Drobik, a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police wrote in an email. 

'The cause of death is under investigation and no further details are available.'

Melton was an employee at the food and alcohol distributor, theAlbuquerque Journal reports.  It wasn't clear whether he was working the day of the shooting.

On his Facebook page he also described himself as a drug dealer and a 'killer'.

Police then began the search for the suspect who was found several hours later

Melton's coworkers were stunned by attack.

One colleague, who didn't want to be named, told KOAT they'd worked together since 2012 and that Melton seemed like a nice, quiet and helpful guy.  

'At work he was a quiet dude, you know he was always more than willing to help you out, but other than that he kinda kept to himself and just did his job,' the employee said.

Police say more details are set to come out about the shooter, Waid, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
