An NHS dietician threw herself in front of a passenger train after her unfaithful husband was jailed for raping a woman he met on Tinder, an inquest heard.

Mother-of-three Yinka McKay, 40, suffered a mental breakdown when company director Rica McKay, 47, was jailed for seven years for his vicious attack.

Last June, a year after her ex was jailed, Mrs McKay took her son to school before heading to Birchwood railway station, near her home in Warrington, Cheshire.

She jumped in front of the 9am Liverpool to Manchester train at it travelled through the station at 80mph. She died from multiple injuries.

An inquest heard she worked as a nutritionist at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.

In a statement read to the hearing, Mrs McKay's mother Irene Fatimilehin said: 'When she wasn't home for 9am, I called her and she said she was waiting to speak to a teacher.

'I ended the call with "God bless" and she replied the same. I kept calling and texting her but did not hear from her.

'In the months before her death she had attempted and talked about taking her own life. She had visited the same train station before.'

Mrs McKay had met her husband while she was studying at Aston University in Birmingham. They married in 2000 and had three sons together.

But the marriage began to crumble when McKay who was assigned to help with IT on the 2012 Olympic Games in London and began working away from home.

Train driver Christopher Winters described seeing a female step out from the bushes on the platform.

He said: 'I only saw her for about 10 to 15 seconds, the female almost skipped out of the bushes and into the middle of the railway track.'

Mrs McKay's GP Dr Abraham Joseph told the hearing that he had treated Mrs McKay for anxiety and a lack of sleep following the breakdown of her marriage.

Recording a conclusion of suicide, coroner Heath Westerman said: 'On the balance of probabilities she did the act herself and intended to end her own life.'

During McKay's rape trial at Chester Crown Court, the victim said she had met him via dating app Tinder in December 2015.

In January 2016, they went on a date in Chester and kissed before McKay drove the woman home and asked if he could 'come in for a cup of tea'.

She agreed and the pair initially had consensual sex but as he was about to leave, McKay demanded intercourse again and attacked her.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
