«Breaking News» 'Mini Beast from the East' will send temperatures plummeting to 5C this week

Britain is set to be hit by a mini 'Beast from East' this week as cold air from Scandinavia sends temperatures plummeting.

Wintry showers will batter parts of the UK over the next couple of days bringing an end to the unseasonably warm conditions this November.

The mild southerly winds are being replaced by bitter air from northern and eastern Europe with temperatures dropping to around 5C.

But forecasters warn that it could feel even colder because of the wind chill.

They have not ruled out the chance of sleet, ice and some light snowfall in parts of the country.

Steven Keates, meteorologist at the Met Office, said: 'It's going to be colder than what we've been used to, obviously, considering it's been balmy and mild as a whole.

'There's going to be a day by day cooling off, with each day getting cooler than the previous.

'There will be some cloud and showers, but the biting wind will make it feel even colder than it is, particularly in the east.

'There could be some snowfall in the more mountainous areas, the peaks, but we shouldn't expect too much disruption.'

Met Office forecaster Greg Dewhurst added: 'It is noticeable colder today after the balmy weekend and the period of mild weather.

'Over the next 24 hours most of the country will be hit by a mixture of scattered wintry showers.

The mild southerly...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
