«Breaking News» Donald & Melania visit Marines after criticism for skipping a WWI ceremony while it was raining

The president and first lady held a meet and greet with Marines stationed in Washington after coming under severe criticism for skipping a ceremony at a WWI cemetery dedicated to American soldiers on Saturday.

Their trip to Belleau Wood, just outside of Paris, was called off amid a light rain when the Secret Service assessed it was too dangerous for the president's helicopter to take off in France.

Critics argued that the first couple should have motorcaded to the site that was more than an hour's drive outside the city or made alternative plans.

Donald Trump went ahead with a planned speech the next day at Suresnes, another World War I memorial and cemetery, the following day in a downpour.

He took his custom-made limousine that travels with him everywhere to the site that was closer to Paris and delivered remarks in the open air while it was drizzling.

Trump stirred up controversy again on Monday when he and the first lady opted not to visit Arlington National Cemetery and its closely-monitored Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, even though they had returned the previous evening from France.

They were in Paris celebrating Armistice Day, which falls on Nov. 11, with other dignitaries. Trump gave his remarks at Suresnes Veterans Day, as the date is referred to in America, but did not make an appearance on Monday when the holiday was observed by the federal government.

He and his wife made up for the oversight with a visit to the U.S. Marine Barracks near Capitol Hill on Thursday morning before a speech to veterans at the White House.

They mingled with 20 tables of veterans alongside John Kelly, the White House chief of staff. Kelly is a retired marine general. He took their place at the ceremony they missed at the Belleau Wood battlefield on Saturday.

After about 40 minutes inside the barracks, visiting most of the time with the marines in private, the couple returned to the White House.

President Trump then gave a speech in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, where he praised his administration's efforts to improve veterans' health care.

He said that prior to the legislative action, the country was 'not giving vets the care or respect that they deserved,' but now now the VA has the ability to fire employees that are not treating them properly.

'We're good at getting things done,' he assessed. 'The fact is I've done a lot! Goodbye everybody,' he said pretending to leave now that the mission was accomplished.

He said again of his various feats, including the recovering economy: 'That's a lot!'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
