«Breaking News» The Crown Season 3: Olivia Colman and Josh O'Connor recreate Prince Charles' investiture ceremony

The cast of The Crown were seen filming one of the most important moments in Prince Charles' life.

And Olivia Colman, Josh O'Connor and Tobias Menzies got to work on set as they shot scenes that recreated the royal's investiture as Prince of Wales in 1969 at Caernarfon Castle in Gwynedd, Wales.

Filming at the same location on Sunday, the actress, 44, was seen presenting the young actor, 28, to members of the cast from atop Queen Eleanor's Gate.

Josh transformed into the Prince, as he wore his ‘formal blues’ army uniform while out on the streets of the royal town before draping a royal purple mantle over his shoulders during the ceremony.

The outfit was made to replicate what Prince Charles wore at the time, a hand woven silk velvet robe which was created by Ede & Ravenscroft and secured with an 18ct Welsh gold clasp.

The actor completed his look by wearing a gold ceremonial crown on his head, and he could be seen holding a staff in one hand.

Olivia also stepped out in an outfit that was similar to what Queen Elizabeth II wore, and she looked elegant in the gold gown and matching hat.

The pair could be seen holding hands as they performed in the scene, and the Broadchurch star they waved at extras and onlookers.

And once the director had called cut, Olivia enthusiastically greeted the large group of actors that stood below the gate.

In between the scenes, the actress opted to banish the Winter chill by wearing a grey hooded jumper and puffy jacket over her golden gown.

After filming the ceremony, the cast then stepped out onto the streets of the Welsh town, where they took part in a procession to recreate Prince Charles' arrival.

Josh was sat in a royal carriage alongside two other actors, and he could be seen preparing himself for the role by fully immersing himself in his character.

Donning a stoic expression, Josh kept a hold of his sword as an attendant dressed in a formal uniform closed the door behind him.

A plethora of extras were dressed in 1960s style clothing as they watched from the pavement as they cheered for joy.

The carriage was pulled through the picturesque town by attendants on horses, who wore glamorous red and gold military jackets.

Caernarfon was laden with red, white and blue bunting, and British flags were draped over cords that lined the streets for a royal flair.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
