«Breaking News» Chris Martin speaks out alongside Pierce Brosnan in support of California wildfire aid

Chris Martin is speaking out alongside Pierce Brosnan in support of wildfire aid after their Malibu community was scorched by the Woolsey blaze.

The British stars both attended the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday and asked for support on behalf of their less fortunate neighbors.

Martin urged the board to recognize that there was more to Malibu than celebrities.

'I'm here just to reassure everybody that we as a community are going to do our utmost to help ourselves,' he began.

'But there is sometimes an image of Malibu that people like me are there more than other people.'

'There's a lot of people who need help from outside, from you,' he told the board.

The Coldplay frontman thanked the board for letting him speak, and also paid tribute to those on the front line of the Woolsey Fire.

'Thank you to all the first responders and the people who worked so hard to get us all out of there and to keep us as safe as they could,' he said.

Brosnan also appeared before the board and asked them to do 'everything in your power to save our community'.

'My wife and I are here today, speaking on behalf of friends, mothers, children, to give voice to their pain and their destitution on this day,' he said.

The former James Bond star then revealed that the Woolsey Fire was the worse he had ever seen in his 35 years as a Malibu resident.

'I have witnessed many fires in my community and personally experienced the devastation of those fires up close and personal,' he began.

'But none as catastrophic as the events that have taken place in our communities these past five days and nights.'

'The lives of many family, friends, and neighbors have been turned to ash, and many cannot be with us today because they are fighting to protect their homes.'

'They simply cannot get out as they fight to survive without water, electricity, food, gas, and - in some cases - shelter.'

'We have watched as our firefighters and police force have battled with overwhelming courage of heart and conviction to save our homes and our lives in conditions that have tested their resolve to the limits.'

Brosnan spoke at the meeting shortly after returning to his Malibu beach house and finding the neighborhood heavily damaged by the Woolsey blaze.

A pained grimace washed over Brosnan's face as he stepped out of a Land Rover and looked over the area that had been torched by flames.

Brosnan and his family had been forced to evacuate their $3.5million property after the fire swept through Southern California over the weekend.

The 65-year-old and his wife Keely Shaye Smith were seen returning home on Tuesday.

Smith could be seen wearing a respirator mask to protect herself from the harmful smoke and ash that was still in the air.

Brosnan's home - which was under construction for more than two years and finished in 2014 - also stood in the fire's path.

The property includes a guest suite, four bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, with neighbors including Steven Spielberg and Dustin Hoffman.

A number of celebrities have lost their houses in the Woolsey Fire, including Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus, Gerard Butler, Neil Young, Kim Basinger, Robin Thicke, and Camille Grammer of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Many were also forced to evacuate last week, including the Kardashian clan, Will Smith, Caitlyn Jenner, Lady Gaga, and Simon Cowell.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
