Brigitte Macron had a fashion face-off with Belgium's Queen Mathilde yesterday as the two women met in Brussels.
The fashion heavyweights are accompanying their husbands, French President Emmanuel Macron and King Philippe, during a two-day state visit which will see them take in the sights of the Belgian capital.
Last night the royal hosts welcomed the Presidential party to a lavish state banquet, where the couples exchanged toasts to each other.
Earlier France's First Lady, 65, pulled out all the stops in a sharply-tailored grey coat and £2,610 Louis Vuitton tote as she touched down at the Royal Palace on Monday.
Defying the gloomy winter weather, she completed her outfit with a grey polo-neck dress, leather gloves and her signature towering stilettos.

Brigitte's glamorous host, 45, wore a vibrant red A-line frock featuring an elegant belted waist, matching headband, and classic beige accessories.
The Belgian royals greeted their guests on a plush red carpet, with the French President planting a kiss on Mathilde's hand.
The two couples posed for formal group photos on a pop-up podium in the Rue Brederode before heading into the palace.

The Macrons also met with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel and his partner Amelie Derbaudrenghien, before attending a meeting at Egmont Palace.

Mother-of-four Mathilde was joined by husband of 19 years King Philippe, 58, who ascended the throne following the abdication of his father, King Albert II, on 21 July 2013.
They are parents to Princess Elisabeth, 17, Prince Gabriel, 15, Prince Emmanuel, 13, Princess Eleonore, 10 - with the eldest recently starting boarding school in Wales.
Belgium's royal couple recently returned from a flying visit to the UK, where they joined the Prince of Wales for his 70th birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace.
Mathilde, a former speech therapist with a psychology degree, has a somewhat conservative approach to fashion, favouring long hemlines, block colours and sensible silhouettes.
By contrast Brigitte, a former teacher, has expensive taste and has a penchant for designer labels - her favourite being Louis Vuitton.

France's First Lady has been spotted sitting on the front row at the luxury label's fashion shows, as well as at Christian Dior.
She also has a penchant for Revival (favouring their ankle boots), Gianvito Rossi shoes, wears an Hermès watch and owns a £1,000 Moncler jacket.
Belgium's last visit from a French head of state was made by President Georges Pompidou in 1971.
This week's visit, which comes just days before an EU summit next weekend, will focus on deepening the relationship between the two countries.
They will also visit the district of Molenbeek, home of IS-inspired jihadists who carried out the notorious 2015 Paris attacks that killed 130.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
