«Breaking News» Ballpark pizza vendor, 21, gets just probation after pleading guilty to SPITTING on a customer's pie

A pizza vendor at the Detroit Tigers' stadium who was caught spitting on a customer's order has been sentenced to 18 months of probation.

Jaylon Kerley was fired after a coworker caught the disgusting act on video in September.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to one felony count and one misdemeanor count of food law violations, which carry a combined maximum sentence of up to four years behind bars.

But on Thursday, he avoided jail and was sentenced to probation and ordered to take an anger management class. He also must not work around food while he serves his probation.

The person who originally posted the video claimed the worker was 'mad and having a bad day' when he decided to spit into the food, however they also said he had done it before

Kerley didn't comment during Thursday's hearing. His lawyer, Carla Marable, says Kerley was 'very remorseful.'

Officials determined that the video which was subsequently posted on Instagram was recorded on September 21 during the Tigers' game against the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park.

The pizza was apparently intended for a customer. 

Tests later showed that Kerley didn't have communicable diseases.  

Footage of the incident showed Kerley spitting out a large string of saliva onto a pizza before he mixed it in with the sauce.

After the clip went viral on social media, police investigated. 

The person who originally posted the video to Instagram, Quinelle May, claimed Kerley was 'mad and having a bad day' when he spat on the pizza - but also said he had done it in the past. 

In the video caption, May described how he reported the video to management but was shut down and sent home.

'Every time I tried to talk, they told me to shut up,' he said.

May claimed he was threatened with prosecution if he didn't take the video down. 

Detroit Sportservice, the stadium's food provider released a statement, claiming the company: 'immediately closed that food stand and disposed of all the product' after the video surfaced. 

Ballpark officials confirmed Kerley was fired after the 'food tampering' video surfaced

'As soon as we became aware through social media of potential food tampering, we immediately closed that food stand and disposed of all the product,' it read.

'Food safety is our top priority and we will take any appropriate action necessary to protect our guests.'

One Tigers fan, John Schiffeneder, had a particularly bleak reaction to the video saying: 'The unfortunate part is, it's not uncommon. People don't realize how many different places do things like that.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
