«Breaking News» Alan Jones will be ‘off air indefinitely’ after being rushed to hospital for treatment

Radio host Alan Jones has been rushed to hospital and will be off the air indefinitely.

Jones, 77, missed his regular breakfast slot on Sydney's 2GB on both Monday and Tuesday after seeking treatment for severe back pain, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Fellow 2GB host Ben Fordham said the station 'needed Jones back on air'.

'Alan has more backbone than anyone I know so I am sure he is going to make a full recovery,' Fordham said.

Macquarie Radio chief executive Adam Lang confirmed Jones' absence was health-related.

'Unfortunately, Alan Jones is unwell at the moment and receiving care in a hospital,' Mr Lang said.

'We hope that Alan is as comfortable as possible and that he has a swift recovery.' 

Jones had surgery on his back in November 2016 and has undergone several neck operations.

Fill-in host Chris Smith announced on air that Jones was having treatment for severe back pain.

'His doctors are working to establish what the problem is. The end result is he'll be back as soon as he can but we're not sure exactly when that will be,' Smith said.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
