«Breaking News» Son of notorious Canadian mobster, 44, is shot dead in 'targeted' hit inside father's home

The son and grandson of notorious Canadian mobsters was shot dead in Ontario this week in what local police are calling a 'targeted' killing.

Cece Luppino, 44, whose father is 81-year-old mafia boss Rocco Luppino, was killed at an upscale home owned by his parents on Mountain Brow Boulevard in Hamilton just before 6pm on Wednesday.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, the younger Luppino was 'obviously deceased,' having been shot from a close range. His newlywed wife was not home at the time. 

Detective Sgt. Peter Thom, of the Hamilton Police Service, told reporters that investigators are trying to determine whether the fatal shooting is linked to organized crime in the area, which has long been controlled by three clans - the Violi/Luppinos, Papalias and the Musitanos.

However, Thom stressed that Cece Luppino did not have a criminal record and had no history of run-ins with police. 

Police were reviewing surveillance video from the Luppino home and nearby houses in search of clues.  

Cece worked for his family's real estate business and cafe in Stoney Creek, reported CBC.ca. He had just gotten married in early June 2018, according to social media posts.

The National Post reported, citing police records, that Cece previously rejected an offer to became a 'made' member of the mafia, lamenting that a life of crime comes with 'too many headaches' and not enough money.

Cece Luppino's shooting death is Hamilton's third murder apparently related to the mafia in the past two years. In each case, the victim was targeted inside his family home.   

Angelo Musitano, 39, was gunned down in his driveway in May 2017, and Albert Iavarone, 50, was shot outside his home in September of last year. The two cases remain unsolved to this day.   

Cece's father and his uncle Natale are both 'made' men with alleged ties to the Todaro crime family operating in Buffalo, New York. Rocco was convicted of crimes related to extortion back in 1979. 

Cece's other uncle, Paolo Violi, was killed in Montreal in 1978 during a turf war with a rival crime family, reported The Toronto Star.

Rocco's nephews, Domenico and Giuseppe Violi, were recently found guilty of trafficking in fentanyl and cocaine and sentenced to eight and 16 years in prison, respectively, reported The Hamilton Spectator.  

Cece's grandfather was the Italian-born Giacomo Luppino, who was a powerful crime boss in Canada during the 1960s and 70s. The patriarch passed away in 1987.

According to family lore, Giacomo cut off a rival's ear in his hometown of Castellane, Calabria, and carried the severed organ as a souvenir in his wallet for many years.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
