This is the terrifying moment a shop assistant is smacked twelve times with a baseball bat as she cowered behind the counter during a brutal raid by a masked gang.
The female staff member at JS Convenience store was bludgeoned by three thugs who stormed the shop in Church Lane, West Bromwich, on Friday night.
Horrific footage of the robbery captured on the store's CCTV shows the defenceless woman holding her hands up in surrender as the gang burst into the shop.

They corner her off and as one jumps over the counter behind her while the other two block the exit on the other side
But the hooded robbers corner the petrified woman, with one jumping over the counter behind her while the other two block the exit on the other side.
In distressing scenes not included in the video, the men batter the shop assistant as she desperately tried to shield herself with her arms.
When the heavy blows finally stop and the savage attacker backs off, she makes a dash for it and manages to scramble over the counter while deliberately knocking boxes over to stall the men.
The thug quickly lashes out, grips her white fleece and tries to pull her back but she wriggles free and sprints for the exit.
Leaving a trail of destruction in their wake, the robbers then flee the store.
West Midlands Police has confirmed it is investigating the robbery, which took place at around 9.30pm, and will be issuing a statement shortly.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
