«Breaking News» Mother, 34, struck in the face with a CROSSBOW after she saved son, 14, from shooter

A heroic Arkansas mother got shot in the face with a crossbow and survived after diving in front of her teenage son.

Janet Partain feels she 'lucky to be alive' after she was shot by Joseph Avellino, 34, on Monday, and even managed to drive herself to hospital after the incident.

The 34-year-old shared a photo of her horrifying injuries while in hospital. In one picture, the arrow is still protruding from her face as blood poured from the gash. Later photos show the mom with the arrow removed, and her face stitched up.

'My face is throbbing and I can't shut one of my eyes,' she told WREG, less than 24 hours after the arrow was removed.

Joseph Avellino, 34, was charged with battery in the first degree and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child after what law enforcement believe to have been an altercation with the woman.

Cross County Deputies responded to a residence around 4.20pm but deputies found the victim had already left in a vehicle.

Partain said she was injured after turning up at Avellino's home near Wynne with her 14-year-old son and 15-year-old nephews to confront him about a theft.

'I told him, Joseph I don't want you on my property no more, this and that. And he was like, "Well I'm going to shoot ya'll",', Partain explained. '[He] was pointing the arrow at them and he fired a shot at one of them, and I pushed them out the way and I got hit,' she said. 'I think I was in shock because once I got hit I said, "I can't believe you almost shot that kid".'

Even when a family member posted the good news about her recovery she seemed nonchalant about the entire ordeal.

'I'm great, 100 100 100,' the victim responded to: 'My auntie is finally out of surgery.'

Her son Tracey posted numerous public updates on his Facebook account throughout the week showing concern for his parent.

Avellino was held in Cross County Jail but Thursday morning Partain said he was roaming the streets again.

'He already out!! Cross county!!!' Partain responded to a well-wisher who said the suspect should 'not pass go, go straight to D.O.C.'

The suspect is the brother of Crystal Avellino, the woman killed in an apparent murder-suicide September 2016.

Also deceased Bobby Wright was suspected of being the shooter in the incident which was connected to the resignation of Cross County District Court Judge Joseph Boeckmann in May earlier that year.

The Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission accused Boeckmann of violating the state's Code of Judicial Conduct after not disclosing that he 'maintained an intimate, sexual relationship with Anthony Avellino' since 2001, Arkansas Money & Politics reported.

Anthony managed properties Boeckmann owned.

He was criticized for reducing the man's sister Crystal's $50,000 bond for property theft and abuse of an endangered or impaired person. They each came with three felony charges and eventually she didn't have to post any bail in September 2014.

She was accused of using her position working at Wynne Elder Care to make Luther and Winifred Sigman give her $30,000 in three instalments.

The judge's second connection to Crystal was that she worked for his sister Paulette McClanahan at Wynne Elder Care, a place where he contributed 'several thousand dollars each year'.

It also emerged Crystal had a daughter Chloe Carter, fathered by the judge's nephew Charles 'Chuck' Carter.

Boeckman, 73, was sentenced to five years in prison last February for mail fraud and witness tampering. He had faced 260 years behind bars if convicted on all 21 counts, the Associated Press reported.

A court heard testimony of how he would make men with traffic or misdemeanor criminal charges come to his house with 'canned goods for charity' but would photograph the men from behind while making them pick up the items.

Over a period of seven years until 2015, he insisted it was to prove they did community service in turn reducing their punishment.

'He dangled their case dismissals in front of them while making them do his bidding,' a memo said. 'He posed them in embarrassing positions; positions that he found sexually gratifying.

'And when he sensed an opportunity to ask for more, he would take it — using the men's powerlessness and poor socio-economic circumstances to create a personal collection of explicit, exploitative images.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
