Strictly Come Dancing EXCLUSIVE: Has Anton Du Beke quit the dance show? Stalwart reportedly won't be back next series after tiring of his joke acts'
All over? He and his dance partner were the first pair to be eliminated from the first series on Sunday night - Anton has been a part of the show since it began in 2004 but has never won
'He was lucky last year, getting Ruth Langsford, as the public love her and she is popular. It's time to hang up his dance shoes.'
Some time later, Anton himself took to Twitter to say there was no way he is leaving.
He wrote: 'My loves, some people are reporting I'm quitting the show. Absolute rubbish! I'm NEVER quitting.
Not going anywhere: Anton had this to say some time after the rumours came out
'Whether they want me or not, I'm never going! Love you all and love #BBCStrictly.'
Anton has never won the show and has previously been partnered with Ann Widdecombe and Kate Garraway.
A spokesperson for Strictly told MailOnline: 'We never comment on contractual matters but Anton will be kept very busy for the rest of the series in our group performances.

With Strictly Come Dancing returning to our weekend watch list, Tess Daly is back on our style inspo radar as she continuously looks gorgeous in an array of figure-hugging dresses.
On tonight's episode, Tess graced our screens in a stunning white midi from Roland Mouret’s Resort 2018 collection. Styled by James Yardley, Tess looked effortless in the white dress that features an asymmetric hem and black spaghetti strap detail.
The monochrome colour palette of Tess’ outfit is classic and stylish and we couldn’t love it anymore if we tried!

'We also have our Christmas special so his fans will be seeing plenty more of him.'
On Monday morning, former Strictly professional, Brendan Cole, took a dig at Anton, 52, after he was the first to be booted from the BBC series on Saturday alongside Susannah, 56.
The ballroom dancer, 42, admitted that despite being surprised they were booted, Anton's dance 'wasn't very good' and he 'felt sorry' for Susannah as 'she didn't know what was going on.'
He said: 'I was a little bit surprised. Having said that, it wasn’t very good. I felt really sorry for her, it just felt like she didn’t really know what was going on.'
It's also been reported that Susannah had a tantrum behind the scenes after the show ended.
Susannah and Anton performed a foxtrot to They Can't Take That Away From Me by Frank Sinatra and only secured a one from Craig and fours from the other judges on Saturday night.
Brendan admitted on the morning talk show that he was surprised Anton didn’t challenge judge Bruno Tonioli's criticism: 'Even Saturday, I’m so surprised he didn’t have a go at Bruno for laughing at his partner. I would have been furious!'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
