The catwalk became the dog-walk this weekend when one designer hosted a doggy fashion show during New York Fashion Week.
Anthony Rubio designs 'couture' for both actual human women and their canine best friends — and whether they walk on two high-heeled feet or four bare paws, no bit of glamour goes unexplored.
On Sunday, Rubio presented his Spring/Summer 2019 collection, sending both women and pups down the runway in his designs.
Modeling's ruff! Self-styled 'pet couturier' Anthony Rubio put on a doggy fashion show this weekend
Double duty: Rubio designs for both human women and dogs
Fetching fashion: The show was held in New York City on Sunday and featured several canine models dressed to the nines
Out for a walk: Models wore glittering gowns inspired by Old Hollywood, and several carried dogs in their arms and several carried dogs in their arms
A history of canine couture: Rubio has been holding dog fashion shows for a decade
Rubio — a self-styled 'pet couturier' — has been putting on 'canine couture' fashion shows for a decade.
This weekend, he showed his latest designs, outfitting women in his womenswear collection and having them escort dogs in his canine outfits, either carrying down the runway or walking them on a leash.
'I labored tirelessly creating fashions and employed the assistance of only the most dedicated and loyal people to bring my visions to reality,' Rubio said in a press release.
'Among those were my models, both human and canine, who not only strutted in full glory but dedicated time to really get to know one another and harmonize with the dogs to bring about a seamless show.'

Who's a good boy? Audience members loved the show and cooed at the cute pups as they took to the catwalk
Try to chase THAT tail! One of the more spectacularly-dressed dogs had a train bigger than his body
Strike a pose! This dog seemed to know just how to show off his stylish outfit at the end of the runway
This isn't the park! Some of the dogs who walked on the runway had a hard time and slipped and slid over the polished surface
Little diva: This sassy lady had her hair done for the occasion, too
He said that his inspirations for the new line came from theater and film, specifically old movies like Chicago and Some Like it Hot.
'My models looked like centerfolds in society tabloids for old Hollywood Glam,' he said. 'The canines also wore bold colors, some had flashy formal ensembles a feast for the eyes and the audience truly loved it.
That's certainly true. Video from the event captures the audience reactions, and men and women laughed and cooed over the canines.
They snapped away as some of the pups struggled to walk on the polished runway, their paws slipping and sliding over the surface as their handlers helped them along.
And as it turns out, human models aren't the only ones who have to face criticism from fashion fans.
Hey, how come he gets to just watch? Some of the dogs got distracted by other dogs in the audience
Function and fashion: Rubio says he wants his dog outfits to be both glamorous and comfortable
The whole family: One little boy even accompanied a model and dog down the runway
Ta-da! At the end, Rubio took a bow with Sunny the Golden Labrador Retriever
His muses: He also posed with several dogs (and human models) backstage
The doggy models seem to have had a heckler or two in the crowd, as some of the human attendees brought along their own pets — and at least one could be heard barking at some of the doggy models on stage, sparking a reaction in a few.
'My show was a huge triumph thoroughly enjoyed by all,' said the designer. 'How do I know? I will tell you. The joy shines through all my models.
'What the audience witnessed was a professional fashion show like no other resulting in a deep appreciation of my vision.'
Rubio himself came out at the end of the show, taking a bow while accompanied by Sunny the Golden Labrador Retriever — who wore an Art Deco vest in gold sequins and did a shake for the audience on his way out.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
