«Breaking News» Gang Of Youths brings the house down as they perform hits during NRL grand finals pre-game show

They won album of the year at the 2017 Aria awards.


And Gang Of Youths unleashed their hits at the NRL grand finals at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium, on Sunday.


The indie rock band lead by front man David Le’aupepe, guitarist Joji Malani, keyboardist Jung Kim, bassist Max Dunn and drummer Donnie Borzestowski put on an energetic performance for the rumbling crowd.

They kicked off their set with What Can I Do If the Fire Goes Out? from their award winning album Go Farther in Lightness.

The Sydney five-piece  followed up with performances of The Heart Is a Muscle.


For their finale, they played The Deepest Sighs and the Frankest Shadows with fire works shooting up into the air and audiences cheering, ready to watch the game.

Fans watching at home, took to Twitter to excited to see the local band playing for the stadium crowd, one wrote, 'three years ago, Gang Of Youths played at my pub to less than 200 people.'


'They were incredible then, and now are playing at a grand final. Unbelievable they are something special.'

Gang Of Youths are set to tour the US in October before returning to Australia in November to play 21 sold shows across the country.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
