«Breaking News» Spike Lee shrugs off Trump's tweet calling him out for 'racist hit' on the president

Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Lee on Monday reacted to President Trump’s criticism of his acceptance speech at the awards ceremony on Sunday.

‘Well, it’s okee-doke, you know,’ Lee told Entertainment Weekly.

‘They change the narrative.’

Trump accused Lee of a ‘racist hit’ when the filmmaker urged voters to ‘be on the right side of history’ when casting ballots for next year’s presidential election.

The president tweeted on Monday: 'Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!'

Lee did not seem too bothered by Trump's tweet.

‘They did the same thing with the African-American players who were kneeling, trying to make it into an anti-American thing, an anti-patriotic thing, and an anti-military thing,’ Lee said.

‘But no one’s going for that.’

Just one day after winning his first competitive Oscar, Lee left Los Angeles in style, smiling and signing autographs for fans.

Instead of heading back to his hometown of New York City, the 61 year old filmmaker revealed in an Instagram video on Monday that he's heading to Thailand to shoot his new movie, Da 5 Bloods.

It was revealed he would direct Da 5 Bloods earlier in February, with Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman attached to star.

'BlacKkKlansman, that's over,' he continued. 'Like Jay-Z says, "Onto the next." Da 5 Bloods. I'll be gone for two months.'

'Brooklyn, what's up? See you soon, Lee concluded his Instagram video, before presumably heading to LAX where he was spotted with fans.

Lee won his first Oscar in his illustrious career on Sunday night, winning Best Adapted Screenplay for BlacKkKlansman.

His award, which he shared with Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz and Kevin Willmott, was announced by his longtime collaborator Samuel L. Jackson.

When he got to the stage, Lee literally jumped into Jackson's arms to give him a hug, which was one of the night's most memorable moments.

Da 5 Bloods follows a group of Vietnam veterans who make their way back into the jungle several years later, to 'reclaim their lost innocence,' according to the Variety report from earlier this month.

Chadwick Boseman stars alongside Jean Reno, Delroy Lindo and Jonathan Majors, with Lee directing from a script he co-wrote with Danny Bilson and Paul DeMeo, with a rewrite from Matthew Billingsley.

The project will be Lee's first feature film for Netflix, who he had previously written and directed the series She's Gotta Have It for, based on his 1986 film.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
