'This is my dear friend @selmablair,' the FoodStirs founder wrote while lauding her strength and bravery for stepping into the spotlight.

'To say I’m proud, would be a gross understatement,' she continued. 'When I have a cold, I want to hide from the world under my covers. But not Selma.

'She is facing this diagnosis, the way she faces everything, with dignity, grace and head on. I know the support and encouragement that she has received on this platform has truly been a source of strength for her. This is not an easy journey, but Selma will not let this define her. I love you James.'

Blair, who got to know Geller while working on 1997's Scream 2 together and they again collaborated in 1999 on Cruel Intentions, commented on the post back, simply saying: 'I love you do dearly.'

WHAT IS MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS?

Multiple sclerosis (known as MS) is a condition in which the immune system attacks the body and causes nerve damage to the brain and spinal cord.

It is an incurable, lifelong condition. Symptoms can be mild in some, and in others more extreme causing severe disability.

MS affects 2.3 million people worldwide - including around 400,000 in the US, and 100,000 in the UK.

It is more than twice as common in women as it is in men. A person is usually diagnosed in their 20s and 30s.

The condition is more commonly diagnosed in people of European ancestry.

The cause isn't clear. There may be genes associated with it, but it is not directly hereditary. Smoking and low vitamin D levels are also linked to MS.

Symptoms include fatigue, difficulty walking, vision problems, bladder problems, numbness or tingling, muscle stiffness and spasms, problems with balance and co-ordination, and problems with thinking, learning and planning.

The majority of sufferers will have episodes of symptoms which go away and come back, while some have ones which get gradually worse over time.

Symptoms can be managed with medication and therapy.

The condition shortens the average life expectancy by around five to 10 years.

Selma stepped into the spotlight again on Tuesday when she appeared on Good Morning America to talk about her health.

During her sit down with Robin Roberts, Blair confessed how 'relieved' she was once she was finally given her diagnosis after years of being 'in pain.'

'I cried, I had tears,' she said of her reaction to the diagnosis. 'They weren't tears of panic. They were tears of knowing I now had to give in to a body that had loss of control.

'And there was some relief in that. Cause ever since my son was born, I was in an MS flare-up and didn't know, and I was giving it everything to seem normal.'

She also admitted to 'self-medicating' to cope with the pain and exhaustion of her then-unknown condition.

'I was self-medicating when [son Arthur] wasn't with me,' she said. 'I was drinking, I was in pain.

'I wasn't always drinking, but there were times when I couldn't take it. And I was really struggling with how am I going to get by in life.'

Sarah Michelle wasn't the only one sharing her love for Selma online.

Director Guillermo Del Toro, who worked with the actress on 2004's Hellboy and again during the film's 2008 sequel, wrote a touching message for her Tuesday.

'Selma is a wonderful paradox: vulnerable and strong. Incredibly strong: a fighter. Her extra dry sense of humor and absurdist wit complete one of my favorite human beings.'

She retweeted his message with love on Wednesday, writing back: 'I couldn’t love and admire you more. love your wacky little monkey brain, selmita.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
