Melissa McCarthy has shown her support for 2020's Ghoastbusters 3 - despite her co-star from the 2016 all-female reboot, Leslie Jones, slamming the project on Twitter when it was announced.
The 48-year-old actress had nothing but praise for director Jason Reitman, who is helming the project, taking the reins from his father, Ivan, who directed Ghostbusters [1984] and Ghostbusters II [1989].
'I talked to Jason about it, he's just always had this idea. I'm all for it. I say like, "Tell the story". I'm for anybody who's making movies,' she told Entertainment Tonight.

Jason's script ignores the 2016 film, which replaced all characters from the original mythology with new female leads. The 2020 film will be a direct sequel to Ghostbusters II.
Melissa went on: '[Jason's script] goes back to the world where the [male Ghostbusters] did exist and I'm like, "I want to see that".
Melissa played Abby Yates, with Leslie portraying Patty Tolan. Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon made up the rest of the quartet. Subsequently, the Ghostbusters secretary Janine Melnitz was swapped for actor Chris Hemsworth.
Leslie took the news of the new project much more bitterly, however, taking to Twitter to accuse Jason of being 'like Trump'.

In what many fans felt was a bizarre response to the decision to continue the original canon - after Ghostbusters 2016 was criticised for trying to re-design the franchise - Leslie ranted: 'So insulting. Like f*** us. We dint count. It’s like something trump would do.
'(Trump voice) "Gonna redo ghostbusteeeeers, better with men, will be huge. Those women ain’t ghostbusteeeeers" ugh so annoying.
'Such a d*** move. And I don’t give f*** I’m saying something!!' [sic]
Despite largely avoiding debates about the 2016 film, Jason accidentally waded into his own Twitter issues just last week, when he said that Ghostbusters 3 is 'trying to go back to the original technique and hand the movie back to the fans'.

'Such a d*** move': Leslie went on Twitter to denounce the film, which reportedly has nothing to do with the 2016 version and will follow up on the 1989 sequel to the 1984 original
Some interpreted this as a criticism of the remake; but the Juno director insisted promptly that his tweet 'came out wrong'.
'Wo, that came out wrong! I have nothing but admiration for [director] Paul [Feig] and Leslie and Kate and Melissa and Kristen and the bravery with which they made Ghostbusters 2016. They expanded the universe and made an amazing movie!' [sic]
This, in turn, was met with a glowing tweet from Ghostbusters 2016 director Paul Feig, who typed: 'Jason was a supporter of mine at a time when I couldn’t get movies made.
'He has always been a true gentleman to me and a supporter of Ghostbusters: Answer the Call.

'I can’t wait to see his take on the Ghostbusters universe. Big love and respect to you, Jason. Your fan, Paul.'
The 2016 movie netted $229,147,509 in theaters globally, per Box Office Mojo - but it was so expensive to make and market that this was still reportedly a loss. In fact, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that the movie would have had to make $300 million to recoup its costs, meaning the loss ran up to about $70 million.
Jason has co-written the screenplay with Gil Kenan and plans to begin shooting the film this summer. He is also reportedly meeting potential lead actors this week.
The Hollywood Reporter writes: 'We're hearing that [Jason Reitman] is meeting with young actors this Oscar weekend to play the four teen protagonists in his reboot.

Throwback: The 2016 reboot was directed by Paul Feig (center) of Bridesmaids fame and made women the title characters, as opposed to the original two male-led films in the 1980s
'He's looking for two pairs of a brother-sister combo in the 12 and 17-year range, so expect some casting news sooner rather than later for the summer 2020 film.'
While the movie will continue on from Ghostbusters II - 30 years later- it's said a 'new generation' of Ghostbusters will front the movie, with the original cast appearing in a lesser capacity.

It's unknown whether Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts or Rick Moranis will be back as as Dana Barrett, Janine Melnitz and Louis Tully.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
