«Breaking News» Martha Stewart shows off newly-organized basement storage - including a bucket marked 'enema kits'

Martha Stewart gave fans a lesson in spring cleaning this past weekend, revealing how she gets her assistant go through every one of thousands of beauty items – even enema kits designed to relieve constipation.

The 77-year-old shared images of the basement closet storage at her Winter Home in Bedford, New York, as she walked visitors to The Martha Blog through each step of a transformation.

Although she admitted the area was not 'messy or dirty' to begin with, Stewart said over time the build-up had gotten out of hand, so she got her team of staff in to overhaul.

'In addition to my expansive closet upstairs, this section of my very large basement is dedicated to additional clothes, shoes, cosmetics and other beauty care supplies,' she writes about her Cantitoe Corners property.

Shqipe Berisha is photographed sitting on the floor meticulously reading each label on mascaras, face creams and more personal items. Stewart has an entire box dedicated to 'specimen collections and enemas' as well as one for 'medicated patches'.

An at-home enema can help move stools. By inserting a tube attached to a bag filled with water, tea or sometimes coffee, many find it helps unblock feces with immediate effect. Those who find it doesn't help may opt to have colonic hydrotherapy to flush the bowel instead.

Stewart keeps a Brother P-Touch label maker in the room, something she says also comes in handy for filing jobs and organizing her medicine cabinets.

'This area has gotten quite disorganized - things are mixed up, storage bins are confused and mislabeled, and more clothing and cosmetics have been added without thought as to where they should be placed,' Stewart wrote online.

In photographs posted to the website, her assistant Shqipe wipes off two dressing tables including drawers filled with makeup.

Like the much-talked-about KonMari method, Stewart got her assistant to empty the drawers completely before re-organizing the contents with her most-used products in trays.

Her dressing tables also come in handy with storage underneath for her large volumes of sprays, night creams and cleansing lotions. A large tub of La Mer body lotion, which costs $275 sits at the front of one bin.

'Shqipe places eyeliners in one bin, mascaras in another, lipsticks and lip glosses in another,' she explained. 'I always use transparent bins, so it is easier to see the contents inside. Even if mislabeled you can find what you are searching for more easily than in opaque tubs.'

Stewart revealed how her assistant also got rid of old boxes to create a more aesthetically pleasing closet by bringing in new ones that are equal in size. She also praised the way of storage because it means if a flood occurs, the products won't be damaged.

Pictures show the businesswoman has at least one entire bin devoted to Cle De Peau, the top luxury beauty brand in Japan that sells 40ml of serum for $330. Christian Dior, Bobbi Brown, and Charlotte Tilbury also feature.

Pictured alongside multiple plastic containers labelled 'shampoo', 'conditioner', 'hair products' and 'nail care', Stewart even has some dedicated solely to 'lash and brow growth' and 'liquid spray medications'.

So it's no wonder the star regularly needs to enlist someone to check the expiration dates.

Soon her assistant will have to start the process all over again.

'This process is tedious, but it is always a good idea to clean out makeup and other beauty care supplies every few months,' Stewart advises.

Stewart was inspired to reorganized not only due to the season but because the industrial clothing racks got in the way of easily accessing her bucket loads of cosmetics.

So she enlisted her property director Fred Jacobsen to install the wheel-around rails as stainless steel rods on her ceiling instead.

Another job for her assistant was categorizing her blouses from light to dark colors. Stewart recommends removing unused hangers from the closet to create more wriggle room, hence decreasing the chance of wrinkled fabric.

'Most clothes are organized by item and then by color. It's much easier to sift through shirts and pants, even denims, if they are hung up and easy to see instead of stacked in a drawer,' Stewart explained.

Slightly differing in from Marie Kondo's KonMari method, which suggests ordering hanging items from long and heaving to progressively lighter in weight, Stewart advised to group together items that are commonly worn together.

'Organize things intuitively, so all items for an outfit can be chosen without interruption. This helps especially when you're in a rush,' she blogged.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
