«Breaking News» Kim keeps his sister close by as she watches on from the sidelines at the historic nuclear summit

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un kept his trusted sister close by Thursday as he met with President Donald Trump for their historic nuclear summit in Vietnam.

Kim Yo Jong was seen standing close by, watching on from the sidelines as the two world leaders greeted each other in Hanoi.

Kim and Trump resumed their summit on Thursday morning local time – as the U.S. president predicted a 'fantastic success' but the North Korean dictator said it was 'too early' to say they would reach a deal.

Experts say Kim Yo Jong functions as her brother's chief of staff, managing his engagements, offering trusted advice and acting as a gatekeeper.

Who is Kim Yo Jong?

Kim Yo Jong was the youngest of former leader Kim Jong-Il's seven children to four different women, and has the same mother as Kim Jong-Un.

As a favorite daughter, she received key government positions after returning from her education in Switzerland.

She often led advance parties to inspect sites before official engagements, and held various administrative posts.

Ms Kim's power and influence increased when her brother inherited the presidency in 2011 and she began helping with policy making and reviewing intelligence.

Last year she even ascended to the North Korean Communist Party Politburo, the top council under President Kim.

Balbina Hwang, visiting professor at Georgetown University and founder of the National Committee on North Korea, said she held great sway over her brother's decisions.

A day earlier she was pictured running after her brother when they arrived in Dong Dang and has already been seen holding a large crystal ashtray as he smoked.

In Apirl she was the only woman at the negotiating table as her brother met with South Korea.

She was also on hand at the more informal moments of the summit, collecting his white gloves after a ceremonial tree-planting.

Ms Kim was the first member of the ruling party to venture south of the border since the 1953 Korean War armistice as the face of its Winter Olympics delegation.

Trump has once again asserted that he was in 'no rush' to make an agreement – following an early report by NBC that the US was prepared to back away from a demand that North Korea provide a full accounting of its nuclear weapons programs.

'I think we'll be together a lot over the years,' Trump said. 'I can't speak for today but over a little bit longer term .. we're going to have a fantastic success.'

A reporter asked Kim in Korean if he was confident of an agreement. Kim responded in Korean: ''It's too early to say. I would not say I'm pessimistic.'

'I have a feeling that good results will come,' Kim added.

According to NBC News, US officials aren't demanding that North Korea agree to fully disclose its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.

This decision hints at the possibility that North Korea has no intention of full denuclearizing.

The Hanoi summit is Trump's second with Kim since an inconclusive meeting in Singapore in June that produced much fanfare but little substance and there had been little sign of concrete progress since.

The U.S. president nevertheless appeared upbeat with Kim even as his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen testified at a congressional hearing in Washington, calling Trump a 'conman' who knew in advance about the release of stolen emails aimed at hurting his Democratic rival in the 2016 election campaign.

Kim and T...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
